Every now and again we come up with lots of life different problems that will prevent the Pc from running smoothly. Here's some common ones and their fixes. Most are fairly vague as chaging these wont result in the total collapse of your system.

Computer seems to start up as normal but nothing appears on screen:

As obvious as this may sound it is probably a cable not attached correctly, or the monitor power button being turned off. Please unplug all the cables and replace them carefully!!. Then look into resetting your CMOS.

Some keys not assigned properly:

When installing Windows the default country is installed as America and the default language is American English. To change the Language and Regional Setting you will need to go into Control Panel.  Double click on Keyboard, then Language, choose the Add button, scroll down to English British, click on it and then click on Set as Default. Click on Regional Settings from the Control Panel. You will have to re-start the computer for the changes to take effect.

Commonly get the blue screen of death

If you keep getting the Blue screen of Death or BSOD then its most likely you have a RAM problem. Look at my other page on troubleshooting crashes and then look into the page about using Memtest. This will test your RAM and if it comes up with any problems then you need to replace your RAM

File wont delete

Some windows files are stubborn bytes...So you need to get rid of the. However sometims they just wont. So if they dont simply hold down your Shift key and THEN at the same time press delete....now who said men cant multi task

No Sound

Make sure that your spewakers are plugged into the relevant socket on the back of the pc. This depends on the colour of your plugg. Usually green but different colours for surround sound. Then go to your control pannel and look under sounds and audio devices. Make sure the PC is not muted by unticking the box that says mute and make sure that you have selected your spekaers form the drop down box
