This is how it is tested

  • Level 2 – AWFT1, DNStest, Ghost, Jumper, Kill3, Kill3b, Kill6, Wallbreaker3, Wallbreaker4

AntiVirus

Im not going to put every antivirus on here but some i will. These are all my personal opinions and should not be used entirely in deicison making

  • Malwarebytes

Provides good protection agains some forms of malware and is the best at removing Antivirus 2008/09. Its very simple to use and pretty quick

 Malwarebytes Instructions and download

  • Superanti Spyware

Great tool for providing high to medium coverage agains most form of virus hijack. It can remove most however it will require help on some files. It also scanns the momory and its fairly simple to use.

  •  Adaware 2007

Good software providing fair coverage againsmost low level adaware threats. It doenst get rid of some files again and doesn pick up some more powerful software and if it does pick it up its high on memory usage and its quite slow

  •  AVG Free

This is good for reqal time protection. Its proved with a quick pickup time however once its found the file it will mainly put it in the virus vault. Im dont love this factor as it then requies you to scan with other programs to pick it up. However most listed dont have real time protection and so this shows you that youve got a virus at least.

  • AVAST

Nice and powerful and will provide coverage from most Adware Spyware and Torjan threats. It has unlike the others real time monitoring to pick up the threat before it wreaks havok. Its quick simply after a while but can look confusing at first, and looks like something out of Minority report. However its not free but if you are looking to buy software this is the one for you

  •  Norton

Oh dear...The most troublesome piece of software. It causes multiple download and install and uninstall problems with the system. Its slow and the biggest software hog ever. However it has a decent pick up and remove rate but isnt free

Here is the link for the free Notron removal tool for when you realise you program is in fact a load of rubbish and you want to uninstall without leaving half the program behind

  •  Spybot S&D

I love this program. It give great protection and really removes most threats quickly and easily. Also the best tool to removeadvertising cookies etc. Also the imunization means viruses find it difficult to alter files and also checks when you add registry keys. Great reccomendation

  •  Kaspersky
I like this program alot actually. Its nice and simple to use and prick up rate is pretty good to say the least. They also provide you with free tools to target specific malware problems. Great stuff

  •  Avira!
I had personally not used this program as such but when someone wrote in to say how do i use Avira and i though i would take a look. Its actually a great piece of software. It has better protection over other software eg AVG, Avast etc. It seems easy to use and will remove most forms of malware and trojans etc. However ive noticed it takes a good while to update and seems slow but if your system stays clean then thats no minus point

  •  NOD32
This is a loverly piece of software andi give it a high reccomendation. It looks great and it make you really feel secure about your system. Although its not free its a GREAT reccomendation. It will remove most Virus and Spyware realted problems and some weaker malware however this is a more specialised side. Also the updates install well and gives you a feeling of protection all around

  •  Comodo AntiVirus
Although probably best known for its firewall, Comodo offers other their own anti virus package to use for free. The software has real-time and on-demand scanning and other parts like AVg including email protection and regular automatic updates. It also has something they call HIPS (Host Intrusion Prevention Scheme), which is a firewall-like feature designed to block malware before it can install or run. You can adjust the security level this operates at, although the default Medium setting will be fine for most people. Scans are good and thourough but but usuel alot of system rescources especially as it looks inside zip files by default. You can customise the various scan settings though, which should speed things up considerably.

  •  BitDefender Free Edition
Hmmm...The free version of BitDefender's software can identify and remove most viruses without problems, but it does lack any form of real-time protection. This means that it can remove malware from your system after you've been infected, but it won't stop it getting on to your computer in the first place. If you're not prepared to take that kind of risk, then it's probably best to look elsewhere.

  • Avira AntiVir Personal Edition Classic
AntiVir has a nice interface, providing lots of different options (apart from an email scanner). While it's good for beginners, it also offers plenty of features for more experienced users. The scanner is very thorough, but it does occasionally falter, flagging up safe programs as possible threats.  Not to bad but i wouldnt dive head first
