I see this site as a place to learn a little about my ministry and life, the life and ministry of Trinity Episcopal Church, and as a potential resource for folks.

I began creating this website December 2007.  There's definitely content now, and much is functional, but parts are under construction, or will be modified or updated.  As I'm able to work on it things should work better and there may be more content.   Check back for updates.

News Article & New TV Ad

If you missed the Article about Trinity in the newspaper there's a link to it here:

http://www.mlive.com/flintjournal/index.ssf/2008/05/trinity_episcopal_church_movin.html

Also, the Episcopal Church has a new TV ad called "Get Closer to God, Slice Carrots."  Click this link, or the videos tab on my site.

The main point.. put our faith into action, serve and care for others.  This can be done by doing something that seems as simple and mundane as slicing a carrot.

Mission & Evangelism - The Five Marks of Mission

The Mission of the Church is the mission of Christ

To proclaim the Good News of the Kingdom
To teach, baptise and nurture new believers
To respond to human need by loving service
To seek to transform unjust structures of society
To strive to safeguard the integrity of creation and sustain and renew the life of the earth
(Bonds of Affection-1984 ACC-6 p49, Mission in a Broken World-1990 ACC-8 p101)

Thoughts on vocation

Parker Palmer in his book Let Your Life Speak says, "Vocation does not come from a voice "out there" calling me to become something I am not.  It comes from a voice "in here" calling me to be the person I was born to be, to fulfill the original selfhood given me at birth by God."  And he also quotes a Hasidic tale:  "Rabbi Zusya, when he was an old man said, "In the coming world, they will not ask me:  'Why were you not Moses?'  They will ask me: 'Why were you not Zusya?' "
