INTRO

Do you love your Oldskool Hardcore and Drum & Bass Jungle classics, but are fed up of going to events only to hear each DJ play the same tunes in every set? If so then Retroactive could be what you are looking for! At a Retroactive night each DJ will be playing a set covering a different era. All of our DJs will be digging deep in their record boxes for the real classics of yesteryear. Instead of playing the same old records - our DJs will be pushing the true uplifting sounds from back in the day with a few of your favourite anthems thrown in for good measure and even some of the best upfront stuff to mix things up! So if you like your oldskool with an authentic flavour, read on!

Attractions include 7K soundsystem courtesy of Heavy Duty, Lights, Lazers, Banners, Backdrops, Indoor/ Outdoor chillout areas, smoking area and the usual friendly buzzing atmosphere!

HISTORY

Retroactive was the concept of Adam and Will who met at an Amnesia House event a few years ago. Will was wearing a white boiler suit and Ad was wearing a cardigan and sensible shoes, it had to be the start of something! Both wanted to organise an event which stepped slightly away from the tried and tested formula of recent years, so they decided to team up as they had similar goals in what they wanted from an event. Both were fed up of going out and hearing the same music all night and decided to do a night in which the DJ's will bring the crowd all the great tunes from back in the day which don't get the coverage they deserve and are just as capable as rocking the crowd as the same old anthems!

MUSIC POLICY

The music policy for Retroactive will be classic oldskool house and hardcore from 1989 to 1993. Each DJ will be looking to remind you of all those forgotten classics from back in the day, along with some exclusives, hardcore breaks and the occasional anthem for good measure. Each set will be designed to give a genuine feel for what was being played at the time with a diverse blend of styles being thrown into the melting pot.Above all else, we want the Retroactive crowd to be a lively one, so you'll hear nothing too moody or experimental, just good, uplifting dance music.
