We take in rabbits from local shelters and humane societies, and situations such as laboratories. We do not accept owner-relinquished rabbits, unless they were originally adopted from us. We have a network of foster homes throughout the county, providing foster and sanctuary care for rescued rabbits.
San Diego HRS finds homes for 85 to 100 foster rabbits each year, and assists in placing shelter rabbits from nine area shelters. We adopt only to homes where the rabbits are housed indoors. All adopters are pre-screened and adoption days are by invitation only.
