We specialize in Wolf/dogs (wolf and dog mix).  I do not call them hybrids because a hybrid of something does not reproduce.  A wolf/dog is the man made loop-hole for owning a wolf.

Eagle Tail Mountain Wolf Sanctuary is a no-kill sanctuary, we spay, neuter, and vaccinate all that come in. We currently have 50 wolf/dogs in our sanctuary, ranging in ages 2 years old to 18 years of age.  Some have been with us for 16 years.

We provide a safe, caring environment for our rescued friends,
Increase public support for wolf rescue facilities and wolf release projects.
Create an educational center where people can learn, share knowledge, and enjoy the love of the wolf.
Provide education and experiential learning for our visitors and volunteers.

Because I work as a volunteer and reserve fire fighter visitation to the sanctuary is by appointment only.  Please call to set up an appointment.

Hi. I am just a one woman rescuer but I am willing to help wherever I can even if all is needed is extra hands.

I would love to join forces with any local people who do the same thing although I do know one woman who runs a rescue and often take her animals I have found on the street so she can hold for owners and then adopt them out if no one claims them as she has better accommodations for doing that.  I am better able to rescue dogs than cats but that could change in the future.

Administrative Office (not a shelter): 1738 East Clifton Road, Atlanta, GA 30307

 Contact: Kristin Leydig Bryant

We rescue dachshunds and close mixes in the Atlanta and Savannah areas. Priority is given to dogs in danger of being destroyed at animal control facilities, and to dogs from puppy mill raids.

DREAM is a network of foster homes, completely volunteer-run. We place a high value on mentoring people who think they need to rehome their dachshunds to be able to keep their dogs, rather than turning them in. We also mentor dachshund owners on special issues with the breed (especially Inter-Vertebral Disc Disease). We have an annual festival, Howl-O-Weenie, that is our major fundraising event for the year.

A NO-KILL SHELTER

PAWS Atlanta is conveniently located near I-285, 2.5 miles outside the perimeter on your right on Covington Highway.  Covington Highway is exit #43 off of I-285.

Our Mission

The mission of PAWS Atlanta, Inc. is to provide shelter, food and medical care for abandoned pets, and ensure they are placed in safe, loving homes.  The mission encompasses three goals:

          1.  To advance the No Kill philosophy

          2.  To reduce pet overpopulation in Atlanta through spaying or neutering

           3.  To educate the community regarding the responsible and humane care of pets

About Us

Founded in 1966 as The Dekalb Humane Society, PAWS Atlanta has been providing housing, food and medical care for adoptable cats and dogs.

In 2002 the organization's name was changed to PAWS Atlanta.  The name change was due to the fact that we do not receive money from Dekalb County and that we will accept, space permitting, pets from people regardless of where they reside.

PAWS Atlanta is a No Kill animal adoption center.  That means that these adoptable cats and dogs will stay here until they get adopted.  All animals available for adoption are spayed or neutered, current on shots, dewormed and microchipped.

Happy Labs Rescue Inc. is a 501 (c) (3) non profit organization in Columbus, Indiana who rescues Labrador Retrievers and lab mixes of all ages.

Our dogs come from shelters, owner surrenders, and strays that are never searched for. The rescued Lab goes to a veterinarian for a spay/neuter, vaccinations and any other necessary medical treatment.

Many of these Labs have been neglected, not only in a nutritional/medical sense but also in a psychological/emotional sense. This socialization process promotes the dog's confidence, willingness to learn and trust. For many Labs, this is the first love and kindness they have ever known.

Black male dogs are the number one dogs to die.  Some find them intimidating, while others find them simply non-descript or because they don't photograph well.  For whatever reason, "Big Black Dogs" are always the last to be adopted.  Please give them a chance. A dogs color had little to do with temperament or behavior and you just might find that perfect companion.  Keep your mind open when looking at those Big Black Dogs.  They are sweet on the inside and so beautiful on the outside with their shiny black coats.

Mission Statement

As an organization who's main focus is on educating the public, shelter community, and law enforcement agencies, Casa Del Toro also extends it's helping hand in implementing responsible successful pit bull adoptions through local animal control facilities.

Casa Del Toro believes that, through education and community outreach it can and will improve public perception of the APBT breed (commonly known the American Pit Bull Terrier) by not only focusing on the above aforementioned but also supporting responsible ownership through adoption placement, training and post adoptive support.

In addition to supporting shelters and owners Casa Del Toro will work on improving the lives of APBTs in the following ways:

*providing dog houses and supplies to “outside dogs” and encouraging owners to bring their dogs inside to live as family pets.

*educating the public on humane laws (care and treatment)

*ending indiscriminate breeding and overpopulation through spay and neuter programs

*actively working to strengthen dog fighting laws/punishments while educating the community on the realities of dog fighting

We are mostly an online based network with all aspects of rescue resources such as transport, coordination, rescue, foster, adoptions, and donations.  We have members from across the country and our board members are in NY & MI currently, but actively looking for more board members.

I am the former Director of the ASPCA, in NYC, and have volunteered in all capacities at NYC ACC, BCAS over the past 15 years. I am a dog trainer and am located in Bergen County, Northern NJ, I try to rescue in tri-state area only, but it has expanded to nationwide. I mainly network, post, beg , plead etc to rescue even 1 animal and will offer my training services for free for a dog that I've helped rescue. I have an extensive list of rescue sites that I am organizing by state and/or breed. Thank you

Some of our dogs are owner surrenders, but most of our dogs come from kill shelters in The New York State area & beyond. Some of our dogs are cruelty cases & come from abusive pasts - we offer rehabilitation & training to these dogs and have successfully placed most of our cruelty cases into new loving homes. All our dogs are temperament tested before acceptance into our program. Our members consist of Certified Dog Trainers, experienced animal handlers & experienced Rottweiler owners

(RRI) is a national network of volunteers dedicated to placing unwanted, displaced or abandoned Jack Russell Terriers into permanent homes. All dogs entering rescue are either temporarily placed in a foster home or must remain with their owners until a suitable home can be found. Foster space is limited so foster homes are generally reserved for dogs that are in danger of euthanasia at local shelters or are in an emergency situation. RRI gathers information designed to match terriers to the appropriate permanent home or temporary home. We are funded by tax-deductible donation, adoption and surrender fees and supported by dog lovers throughout the world. The goal of RRI is to have this unique hunting terrier be in the protective care of those who thoroughly understand this breed.

We rescue our Cocker's from high kill shelters, puppy mills, and local shelters.  We do accommodate owner surrender's, when space is available, but the higher risk cockers take priority.  Our rescue runs on a network of pre-screened, volunteer foster homes.  We provide behavioral evaluation via our foster care program volunteers, & Vetting (including, but NOT limited to, Heart worm check and preventative, Flea Preventative, vaccinations, microchipping, spay and neuter services), prior to adoption, for ALL of our cockers in our foster network.  We are always in search of foster homes, in and around the Central Ohio area.  We do adopt out of state, if certain conditions are met, and the applicant shows a desire to travel to our area.  We also work closely with other rescues, to assist in finding wonderful, loving homes, for dogs in need.  Many of our Cocker's can be seen, touched, and interacted with at our local "Mingle with our Mutts" adoption event on the first and third Sunday's of every month.  Come to touch, play and meet several of our Cocker's at this event.
Want to meet several of our cockers up close and personal? Come to MINGLE!

OK Malamute Rescue was founded by Virgil J. Reed (1932-2008). He bred and showed Alaskan Malamutes in Houston, TX and Coweta, OK. Virgil dearly loved this breed, and was very kind and supportive of the entire Rescue Community in this area for over fifteen years with his boarding kennel (Hilltop Pet Hotel). Virgil passed away in mid-July of this year. Virgil's wife (and co-owner of his kennel), Shelby, passed away in mid-September of this year. The care of Virgil's OK Malamute Rescue has been entrusted to Gail Lang. She has helped Virgil at his kennel for the past several years, and has been involved in a multitude of animal welfare activism for 45+ years (including wildlife rescue and rehabilitation, domestic animal care and rescue, education and certification in animal guardianship programs, and habitat preservation for wildlife) and currently specializes in medical rescue for all animals. Gail also has her own pet dog and cat animal rescue (Love4all Adoption Services).

I personally answer every email and phone call I get from around the world. For instance, what to do when you find a pit bull, etc. Around five years ago, I founded Animals First Rescue, a co-op style online rescue to help all of those animals who weren't lucky enough to be born a pit bull.
Reunion Rescue and Animals First Rescue are now primarily located in Austin, Texas, but still actively rescue in California and help all animals in need no matter what their address. We can advise on dogs, cats, birds, wildlife and other animals through our networking abilities...from screech owls to iguanas...literally!!!  We are trying to start a feral cat SNR here at Lake Travis.
We also provide nutritional information and behavioral information on our site as well as great resources that have worked for us in saving animals. There is almost always an answer.

I am not a rescue in the true meaning, but I do take in chained dogs and dogs that are old that people have dumped either due to their age or if they have a terminal illness, otherwise I take in the hospice/palliative dogs.   I always take them in as permanent fosters. I live on a small disability pension, I am guardian to a dog and a cat, and their care is all I can handle financially. I am a rep for Dogs Deserve Better and volunteer for adopt a rott in Toronto Canada.  Right now I have a 14 year old boxer mix that I picked up last Sunday, his story: the people that were supposedly his guardians, put him on a 4 foot chain to die in this frigid weather as they didn't have the money to have him put down, when he was rescued his temperature was 5 below normal, he is doing wonderful after being with me for a few days, its unbelievable what love and good food will do for an animal, and they know when they are loved and won't let anyone ever hurt them again.  I don't know if I even qualify to join this group, if not, it’s okay, as I said I am not a rescue, but I do, rescue.

Additional Info: New Hope Dog Rescue is a registered non-profit (currently applying for registered charity status). We are completely run by volunteers. New Hope Dog Rescue (NHDR) will foster stray, abandoned, neglected, unwanted, and abused dogs and re-home them. NHDR members strive to find the right home best suited to an individual dog. We will not place dogs simply as a means to move them out. NH defines a “good” home as one that is a match for the dog’s temperament, energy level and training requirements. A good home must meet both the physical and psychological needs of the dog.

Help shelter

Our students have so compare. They nastradalis, first abandoned on the street, and then being in a shelter-SOLARIZE among a large number of the same pets. When a dog is not a caring individual owner-friend, only the owner-friend, it is hard.  So when our pet gets a new owner, the dog fortunately no limit. And she was very afraid of losing a fortune, it is. She does not want to be back on the streets or in a shelter-SOLARIZE. Our dogs value human warmth and kindness! Several hundred of our former pets found new owners and they, and their new owners are very glad that came to us. Come to us and you will find a friend-dog!
If you can not become masters for any of our pets, you can provide assistance dogs for which they and we'll be very grateful.

Activities of the founders of the Fund and its staff is multidimensional.
It is aimed at the expansion and development of shelter-SOLARIZE, the introduction of new projects aimed at protecting the homeless animals and humane control over their population in the city of St. Petersburg and Leningrad region, and to enhance the social level of ethical and humane treatment of animals , Improve and strengthen legislation to protect animals.
Under the leadership of the founders of the Foundation published a free magazine, highlighting the problems of stray animals, was an information channel "savage company, is working with students (trips to the shelter, various competitions).
Representatives of the Foundation are involved in various activities such as international exhibitions "Zoosfera" and "White Nights", a charity festival of "Good Peter" and the festival of domestic animals "Planet of friends."

We look forward to news from all our pets who found a new home!
 We remember and love you!

Our website can be found at www.shwauk.org.uk

Nature of organisation: We are a breed specific welfare organisation looking after the interests of unwanted Siberian Huskies throughout the UK. The massive increase in the numbers of puppy farmers/backyard breeders/hobby breeders churning out vast numbers of unregistered and poor quality pups from parents who have not had the breed appropriate health tests, has resulted in a huge welfare crisis in the UK. Since our inception in February 2007, we have taken in and rehomed over 250 Siberian Huskies aged between 8 weeks and 15 years old. We have a nationwide network of staff (all 100% volunteers) who take in, foster, assess and rehome these unwanted dogs. We have no "kennels" or "shelters" - all of our fosters are looked after and assessed in our volunteer's homes.

Our work has three main aspects:

·                         effective rescue and rehoming;

·                         advice and counseling to those having problems in an attempt to enable them to keep their dogs;

·                         and an educational process designed to discourage the public from buying from irresponsible breeders.
