Parish Church Records are held in the General Register Office for Scotland in Edinburgh.

Census returns for 1841-1891 are available from the General Register Office in Edinburgh.

LDS have CD's comprising a full transcription of the 1881 census returns.

The Scottish Genealogy Society in Edinburgh have a great deal of information on fiche. Visit their website here

The LDS have a very useful service online and you can conduct a free search on names. The fiches may then be ordered from your local LDS Family History Centre for viewing there by appointment, all equipment is provided and it is inexpensive.
