Volunteering: holiday food/faith food Tracy and Melissa for posters! Colette will book H-wing Owls nest. Faith week in the Student Center hallway, but major events in rooms. Date- Last week of Feb- Monday 23-27 [tentative]4. Faith Week
Presentation of different faiths with different activities (idea) It was suggested to have different posters of different faiths around the school before Faith Week. Could provide awareness and evoke interest in learning about different Religions and Cultures Tracy brought up idea of Theatre production group- Trojan Women- all the stories about the war and what happened, modern take on it like Afghanistan. Play- 1.5-2 hours. Other faiths presenting on their Religion and Culture. We are looking at which religious traditions we would like this year. Discussed having Meditation Workshops for Faith Week- which everyone was excited about. We have people in mind to run the meditation workshops and will ask. Want to find out how to best represent Eastern religious traditions for Faith Week, so there is a mix between Eastern and Western Religious Traditions we are looking at being represented during Faith Week include but are not limited to: Islam, Judaism, Eastern Religions(Hinduism and Buddhism) Posters for the Faith week are needed before Reading Week in order to raise awareness about the upcoming events.5. Sweatshirts
Colette- taking care of all things sweatshirt related. Cost: around $80 from the Campus Shop. Can choose between colours, and can have any major(s) printed on the back of the sweatshirt. Looking to order as a group for Religions & Cultures. No additional cost having a different major(s) other than Religions & Cultures on the back. They are good quality, comfy and well worth the investment!! Order one today!6. Pub Night
Bull and Quench for pub night (ask for upstairs)- 1st choice. 100 Georges for pub night- 2nd choice Friday Feb 27th 2009 8pm (tentative).7. Other Ideas
Faith tours: Italy? Or other places?- for next year! $1000-1500 is reasonable. Actual cost is about $2000 for 14 days, transportation and meals (breakfast and lunch/or dinner are included) Great experience!
