Reiki is an oral tradition that is passed on from Reiki Master to student in stages known as degrees.

1st Degree
Attaining this level will enable you to treat yourself, friends and family. As well as learning the treatment process, you will learn what Reiki is and how it works, the history of Reiki and the five Reiki principles. You will also recieve four attunements to open up your energy pathways to enable you to channel Reiki effectively. The course runs over a weekend to allow for discussion and exchange of ideas and experiences. You need no experince of Reiki to attend.
2nd Degree
In 2nd Degree you deepen your experience of Reiki, receiving a further two attunements. You will also be introduced to three sacred symbols, their associated mantras and their uses. You will learn how to send Reiki remotely - to people who are not physically present in time and/or place and to situations. Again, time is allowed for discussion and exchange of experiences. This level is the one after which you might consider going into professional practice. You should leave at least three months since 1st Degree before advancing to this level.
Reiki Master
The journey to becoming a Reiki Master is very much an individual process - best compared with an apprenticeship. You should leave at least three years since being first attuned to Reiki and be prepared to make a deep, lifetime commitment to Reiki.
