I am trying to put together a site on how to do a complete LED conversion in our Regals. If you have a writeup on a section I dont have yet please email it to me at j-simonetti@hotmail.com. Any help with this is really appreciated.
A green to blue interior conversion is the most common in the Regals. This is because most peices have a blue filter tint on the back of them. The picture below shows the blue tint on the gauge cluster.
The backs of the gauges are tinted blue because the stock bulbs give off a yellowish glow. Yellow light passing through a blue filter makes green, the stock color. By raplaceing the stock "yellow" bulbs with white LEDs you will have a nice cool blue. If you decide to use blue LED bulbs insted, it will be a deeper blue.
Ordering Lights
Heres a list of how many bulbs you will need for each task.
Gauge Cluster - FIVE (5) 194 base Wide Angle LEDs
PRND321 Shifter - ONE (1) 194 base Wide Angle LED
Glove Box - ONE (1) 194 base Wide Angle LED
Floor Lights - TWO (2) 194 base Wide Angle LEDs
Rearview Mirror Lights - TWO (2) 194 base Wide Angle LEDs
Back Seat Lights (above door) - TWO (2) 194 base Wide Angle LEDs
Licence Plate Lights - TWO (2) 194 base Wide Angle LEDs
*I suggest buying a few extra just incase you get a fautly bulb, lose a bulb or break one.
http://www.superbrightleds.com/ is a great website to buy from.
*Make sure you buy the
WLED-x5 LED Wedge Base Bulbs
Headlight Switch - ONE (1) 10mm LED and resistor
For converting all other parts you will need to order 3mm LEDs with resistors. These can be picked up on ebay in the color of your choice. It is best to order 100 so you have enough to work with as they are very easy to mess up or lose.
