Random musings...

Last year I was looking for a new job and went to see a very nice lady who works for the adult education centre and who advises you on possible career paths.  She set me off doing this computer programme on her laptop where you answer all sorts of questions about your likes, dislikes and aptitudes, and then the laptop chucks up a list of possible professions.

Got to the end, and nice lady comes back to look over my shoulder..."So what did you get?"

Me, somewhat stunned, (appropriately), "Well, it says here that my ideal job is Abattoir Worker."  (WTF??!!)

"Ah, " replied the lady sweetly, "you must have ticked the box that says, 'I'd like to work with animals' ?"

Ahhhhh, well that explains it.  I'd like to work with animals....but obviously only very, very briefly.....................

So, I was channel-hopping this morning and found myself on the Sky "Create and Craft" channel.  A rather daffy blonde presenter was trying to sell a greeting card template in the shape of a shoe.  (I'll have to paraphrase her words since I didn't record it.)

"And what a lovely template this is, and what lovely shoe cards you can make.  And of course if you turn the template over then you can make shoes facing in the opposite direction.  You can make a pair of shoes.  Oh, and I've suddenly realised! ....what a wonderful craft activity this would be for twins."

What???!!!!
