RED MAN'S DIARIES

Words of a Warrior...

 The Warrior Poet

Niizh Makwa (Two Bears), was born L. Joseph Belgarde, Jr. on the Turtle Mountain Ojibwe Reservation in 1978.  Writing from youth into present, he has single-handedly opened a new door into the poetry world. So powerful and startling are his works, their effects among his readers can only be explained as captivating. Armed with a fearless pen, an elite historical intellect , and a true Warrior heart, he easily conquers the myths & libel associated with American Indian people, and forces the reader's mind to think in a way it has never done before. One of the most straight-forward & defiant young Poets of our time, his first book Red Man's Diaries is sure to be a beginning in this newly created era of Poetic might.

Among his Literary works are: Red Man's Diaries, a play titled 'Four Holes in the Sky', and numerous other poetic ventures...

"I write what I see, man. I write what I know. It can't be controlled, 'cause it's never-ending. This 'mystical Indian' is exactly what I'm not...there are no magical butterflies floating around my head when I walk down the streets of the Projects."
