Red Location Museum aims to engage and include the Community through it’s vibrant programmes. The Museum has launched several successful public programmes as a runner-up to its official Grand Opening which included the following:

Presentations:

  • Presentation on the local struggle movement (Arts & Culture and general) to Michigan State University delegation; Speakers: Michael Barry and Janet Cherry
  • Denis Brutus - Book Launch: "Poetry and Protest"
  • Dr Notshulwana’s workshop with local school principals
  • Memorial Lecture on Steve Biko by Mr. Pakade to local schools

 

Workshops:

• A series of fabric painting workshops with community members

• Music workshops with the community

• Creative writing workshops

• Community Entrepreneurship workshops

• Drumming workshops

• Human Rights workshop

 

Children’s Activities:

• Children’s art workshops
