  • Blondes may have more fun but redheads have more sex, according to new research in Germany. The study by Hamburg Sex Researcher Professor Dr. Werner Habermehl looked at the sex lives of hundreds of German women and compared them with their hair colour.  He said: "The sex lives of women with red hair were clearly more active than those with other hair colour, with more partners and having sex more often than the average. The research shows that the fiery redhead certainly lives up to her reputation."
  • In August 2007, many news organizations reported that Redheads will go extinct by 2060.  This is a HOAX!  It's non scientific and unfounded.  Be aware that the rehead gene is recessive and therefore many people carry it, but not being shown.
  • It's said that the town of Auburn Massechusettes is populated by all Redheads, that is except for a solitary old man named Reg.

  • Redheads are said to be descended from the original tribe Irish and Scots called the Picts, of Caledonia (Ancient Scotland ).  Redheads are also said to have inherited their genes from European Cromagnids and some people debate about Neanderthals  Whether it is factual or not is still in debate.  Included with the debate is Redheads being of Viking origin from Scandinavia.
  • Common Redhead stereotypes are: bad temper, sexual fire, untrustworthy, being smart and eccentric.
Not to mention other things such as superstitions:
In France Redheaded women are treated with high respect.  It is an honour to have a redheaded child in Denmark. On the island of Corsica, if you pass one in the street you spit and turn around. If you pass three red-heads you'll win the state lottery In Poland.
Red hair is overall said to be unlucky yet it's lucky to rub your hand on a redhead's head. Ancient "Egyptians regarded the colour as so unlucky that they had a ceremony in which they burned red-headed maidens alive to wipe out the tint",- author Claudie De Lys.  Ancient Greeks died their hair red to show courage. Women were called witches because of their redhair and then burned at the stake.
Also You're said to be unlucky as a Redhead because of red pigment is an inadequate filter of sunlight and their skin is more susceptible to sunburn, skin cancer and wrinkling with age.

  • Not all Redheads are of Celtic ( Irish/Scot ) descent.  Redhair often shows up in the mediteranean, but probably because of ancient Celtic influence.  Even Three-thousand year old Redheads were found mumified in Chinese desert of Takla Makan.  Other places where redhair is found: Egypt, Nigeria, Hungary, and Isreal.  The Ancient Lost City of Atlantis was said to have a domaniance of redheads.
  • Genetically Redhair is a recessive trait. Which means it can hide in genes and pop up several generations later.  Two Redheads would most likely have a Redhaired child(RR). To have a Redheaded child both parents must carry the red hair gene. The Red hair pigment is called pheomelanin.  The gene is melanocortin 1 receptor.
  • Being redhead is more than just hair color.  Redheads often have very pale skin--almost see through albino-like pink/white skin, puffy eyelids, freckles, light eyes ... although, those may vary, such as darker skin and eyes.
  • Redheads are said to exerience more pain thus needing more anesthesia.  It's said to be linked to the genes
  • "Russia" translates to "Land of Reds" which is in honor of the Redheaded Viking Rurik.
  • Redheads have thick hair but that's because redhair strainds are thick yet they have the least amont of hair on their heads.  A person with thick dark hair may have some Redhead gene thickness.
  • There's only between 2 and 4 percent population of redheads on earth, however the gene is often carried but not often shown.  Percentages on countires are as follows: Scotland 13%/Ireland 10% /US-2 to 4%/France 0.03%.  One estimated data shows that in factuality there's only 1% Redheads in the world.
  • Aging Redheads don't turn grey.  First the hair turns a blondish color then to white.
  • It's difficult for Redheads to dye their hair because of the pignant.
  • Ridley of 'The Red Queen'('93) says: "...fair skin allows the absorption of ultraviolet light to help stave off vitamin D deficiency. But the skin is not much fairer in blond than in dark swedes; truly fair skin goes with red hair, not blond."
  • Nicola Tyrer in the Daily Telegraph says: Redheads "Are deemed to be the emotional slaves of our colouring as no other group."
