REDELMAN'S ZARA
Redelman's Zara is a wonderful doe that has been doing fantastic on the show table. She is pictured here after the triple show for breast cancer in Michigan. She won BOB and later competed against all of the BOB's (youth and open) for Winner's Choice/Exhibitor's Choice. The judges selected her as the Reserve Winner's Choice and the exhibitors selected her as the Exhibitor's Choice.
Zara has been retired from the show table with a total of 30 legs (multiple BOB's, BOS's, BIS's, and RIS's). She is hopefully bred and should give us some very nice babies to show in her place.
We are a family owned rabbitry located in Greensburg, Indiana. Currently we raise mini rex in black, broken, castor, tortoise, blue, and chocolate as well as a few mini lops (chestnut and gold tipped) and english spots (black, chocolate and blue). It started in 2001 with a pair of mini lops as a 4-H project and has grown from there. Who knew that we would fall in love this hobby and would meet so many wonderful people along the way:-) Currently, the rabbits are shown by my three daughters (Jessica, Jennifer, and Joanna) in the youth shows but I am hoping to be able to show some myself.
Jessica is a junior in high school and is interested in pursuing a career as a veterinarian. She would like to attend Ohio State University (great school as well as my alma mater) after high school and spend the first two years with her grandparents while going to the branch campus nearby. If she is not at a rabbit show or working with the rabbits, she is busy studying or reading a book.
Jennifer is a freshman in high school and is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field (e.g., nurse, physical therapist, or occupational therapist). She too would like to attend Ohio State University and spend some time with her grandparents. However, she is hoping to get a scholarship to play basketball at the college level and that will probably determine where she goes to college. If she is not at a rabbit show or working with the rabbits, she is busy playing basketball. She plays center for her high school team and has improved so much over the past year.
Joanna is in the 7th grade and is interested in pursuing a career in the medical field as well but has not made any decisions as to what. She is also interested in attending Ohio State University and spending time with her grandparents. If she is not at a rabbit show or working with the rabbits, she is busy playing basketball.
As for mom, I am still in school and probably will be for the next 20 years. I graduated from Ohio State University with a BS in Engineering and received my Masters in Education through Indiana Wesleyan. Currently, I am working as a high school math and science teacher. If I am not at a rabbit show or working with the rabbits, I am trying to get caught up on work and sleep. As with most parents, I have many dreams and aspirations for my children. I hope all of their dreams come true and I will do my part to help them along the way.
Browse through our website and, if you have any questions about the breed or have any suggestions on how to improve the appearance of our site, please let us know. We are always interested in what others have to say and always willing to help others improve the quality of the breeds we raise. Thanks for visiting:-)
