ABOUT US

We are a local group of volunteers taking action on environmental and social justice issues.

Since 2001 we have worked to make the planet a better place for people.

We are one of over 250 Friends of the Earth local groups in the UK trying to make a difference to communities affected by environmental issues.

Our message is simple: "Think Global, Act Local"

(We helped introduce a law for doorstep recycling across the UK in 2004)

We are active on:

tackling the causes of climate change.
promoting local food that reduces food miles and benefits our economy and animals' welfare.
initiatives for low carbon communities.
pushing for more sustainable travel options.
promoting re-use, zero-waste culture and reducing the need for landfill.

We also enjoy social events:

Cycle rides, films, theatre and gigs.
Pub-quizzes and guest speakers.
Green Drinks.

There is a role for everyone:

Some people prefer to be 'armchair supporters', others are campaigners on the 'front line'. You may want to help organise a fundraising pub-quiz or perhaps you want help reducing your workplace's carbon footprint.
