Redditch Friends of the Earth

Think Global, Act Local

ABOUT US

We are a local group of volunteers taking action on environmental and social justice issues.

Since 2001 we have worked to make the planet a better place for people.

(Collecting signatures for a GM free Worcestershire in 2002)

We are one of over 250 Friends of the Earth local groups in the UK trying to make a difference to communities affected by environmental issues.

Our message is simple: "Think Global, Act Local"

(We helped introduce a law for doorstep recycling across the UK in 2004)

We are active on:

  • tackling the causes of climate change.
  • promoting local food that reduces food miles and benefits our economy and animals' welfare.
  • initiatives for low carbon communities.
  • pushing for more sustainable travel options.
  • promoting re-use, zero-waste culture and reducing the need for landfill.

We also enjoy social events:

  • Cycle rides, films, theatre and gigs.
  • Pub-quizzes and guest speakers.
  • Green Drinks.

There is a role for everyone:

Some people prefer to be 'armchair supporters', others are campaigners on the 'front line'. You may want to help organise a fundraising pub-quiz or perhaps you want help reducing your workplace's carbon footprint.
