Red Branch Bulldogges

Breeding for Function, Temperment and Form

The Red Branch Advantage

Although we don't have the lifetime of experience that some other breeders have, we have been around for a few years, and are well educated on breeding & whelping practices, and have attended seminars by renowned whelping expert Myra Savant-Harris and distinguished canine geneticist Carmen Battaglia.  I continue to do research, and keep up with the latest technologies and also learn about problems some people have when breeding & whelping a litter.  I also have helped with a few breedings and whelpings over the last few years, and have been researching both the breed and the act of breeding and whelping for roughly 6 and 4 years, respectively.

Although I am yet to whelp a litter, I have already experienced some things that lucky breeders don't have to go through (serious illness, failed breedings, and having to pull prospects from my breeding program to name a few).  Because of all this, I feel I am prepared for whatever could happen in the breeding & whelping process.

We are a small breeder, but we like it that way.  We feel that although being smaller and somewhat new to breeding does lend itself to a little lack of practical experience, it also allows us to be able to spend more one on one time with our dogges, and also with your puppy as it grows.  Our dogges stay in the house, sleep on the bed and cuddle on the couch with us.  They are not out in kennels.  Our puppies are raised in a custom made whelping box, not born in a swimming pool then thrown out to the kennel at a few weeks old.

For those local to Southern Alberta, we give you the opportunity to meet & bond with your puppy from the time it is born through to the day you take it home.  This is very valuable in building a long-term love & trust between you and your puppy.

We feel confident in the qualities in our studs and dams.  They are from great bloodlines, and we feel that they will create some superior dogges through careful clockwise linebreeding those dogs considered to be the best in the breed for health and functionality.  I strive to produce compact, athletic pups that should be a perfect picture of health and a beautiful wide mix of brindles & reds.  I aim for some serious functionality in my dogges if you are interested in working your dogge, but the most importance is put on being a loving family companion.

We also do the most rigorous health testing found in this breed.  At the proper age, we hip X-Ray all of our breeding stock, all but ensuring you won't receive a pup with Hip Dysplasia.  We also DNA test all of our breeding stock, so we know what is in the genetics of our dogges before we produce any puppies.  We have experienced the other side (lack of health testing), and because of this, we are serious about health testing, and show it through our practices, and our involvement in the Olde English Bulldogge Breed Club (OEBBC).

We offer socialization and training when we are available, we do offer a private web-board and we offer unconditional lifetime problem solving and support.  We have a hip guarantee in our contract, as well as a three year genetic health guarantee.  Also, when you get one of our pups, you get a binder full of information on not only the breed, but house training tips, obedience training tips, suggested food lists, suggested toys and just about anything else a new puppy owner should know.

We take great pride in our dogges, and we show it in many ways.  One way being that any dog that doesn't make it into our breeding program has a special place here, and is not disgarded or sold to the highest bidder.  We love all our dogges, and hope that all of our new puppy owners will do the same.
