Music In The Making...People In The Know

A Star Is Born

Personality

Stephanie Page was born in St Thomas Hospital London and spent eleven years growing up as a true cockney though the Queens English and politeness is something Stephanie aspires to! After her parents split, Stephanie spent an equal amount of time in Kent to where she later found her fame. Being in the public eye held familiar surroundings to Stephanie coming from an already talented family background (See family fame) she regularly watched her uncle perform and saw different family on tv! Being an entertainer and Artist from an early age Stephanie was always asked to paint various pictures and played various lead parts in school plays. Stephanie loved comedy and liked to made people laugh wherever she could...

"I have this enormous and very quick witted imagination and once I sat on a bus and there were two elderly ladies looking at me commenting on how beautiful I was! Suddenly I had an idea! I looked at them in a 'Mr Bean' sort of way and said Watch this! Both the ladies looked confused as I pretended to pull out two bits of my really long hair...They were looking quite worried when I next pretended to stick my two bits of hair above my eyebrows...They didn't have a clue at what I was doing until I held the two imaginary bits of hair that I stuck above my eyebrows above my head and I began to pull on them and as I did I made my real eyebrows raise up and down as I pulled the imaginary hair up and down! The ladies laughed all the way to their stop! Where I got the idea to do that and lots of other things I did as a kid I do not know but all I knew was that I could make people laugh!"

Funny Faces

Stephanie goes on to tell us about another time she did something else what went on to create an advert on TV...Stephanie says she was sitting on the sofa when she was about seven and she remembers looking at her auntie when she had visualised this funny face...

"Again I said Wait there! and I ran upstairs to my bedroom where I drew an upside down pair of eyes and nose on my chin...I ran back downstairs with this jumper over my face and turned upside down on the sofa! My auntie and the rest of the family really laughed as I wiggled my chin and sang through my upside down mouth! I had invented the Chin faces and when I showed a friend of mine years later his dad took my idea and put it into an advert which was later televised. He boasted to his mates that his dad (Who worked in advertising) had made this advert when all along he stole my idea! Stephanie has many more funny stories that you can read in Comical Events!

Horses For Courses

*Since writing this review Stephanie has resorted back to being a vegetarian*

"I was against eating meat as a child more of because I couldn't chew it as opposed to not wanting to eat it! I remember chewing on a piece of pork for about twenty minutes when I was about 6! My mother kept telling me to hurry up and eat my dinner but I hated it! I also was very curious as to why she would want to buy 'tongue' too and it was there and then that I decided that I didn't like meat...I mean why on earth would anybody want to eat a cows tongue! I ate meat then only because I was brought up on it but I did try my hardest to avoid it as much as possible"

Stephanie chose a few years ago to become a vegetarian which was not really that difficult due to the fact that it was only through habit that she ate meat. Again, she tried meat for a while after being tempted by a bacon sandwich before realising that not only is it less harmful to eat vegetables and fruit (Think Mad Cow's Disease/Salmonella/Bird Flu! Ed!) This time around she really does know that she is a vegetarian and hasn't eaten meat now for some time now!

Cweam Quackered

"I love vegetables and fruit and breads etc and feel fantastic! Also I'm sure that the animals will appreciate it too! My main tipple when I go to the kebab shop after a night out? Yep! You've guessed it! Salad in a wrap...Delicious! I did though used to be really into quarter roast duck with pancakes...I don't know if it's the combination of pancakes, duck, cucumber, spring onions and hoi-sin sauce or because it's where I have moved to (Stephanie now lives along the road from a rather nice duck pond!) but whatever it is they are (Were!) really yummy! It's all I used to order when I had a chinese takeaway! I am also heavily into fruit and fruit juices of any kind and as much healthy eating as possible...I could quite easily live off of fruit and veg if it wasn't for...

*At the thought of chocolate, Stephanie has now disappeared and I guess has popped to the shops...Are you there?*

"Sorry about that! I cannot talk about chocolate without eating it! Where were we?!"

Chocolate Break

Kit Kat

Have you a favourite chocolate bar Steph? "Err...Hmmm...I like so many and I cannot think at the moment but if I am unable to decide even when I'm in a shop I always go for something that is always available...Reisons are in my top ten!" We decide to end our interview here at this point as Stephanie is making an awful mess of my notes. (Please can you ask Stephanie to stop chomping in the office? There is chocolate toffee dribble everywhere I look...Thankyou! The Ed)

Tea for how many?

As a keen cook Stephnaie has been known to hold a few successful dinner parties (Including the time that she burnt the salad? The Ed) but Stephanie remembers her first dinner party well..."I had fancied this boun-cer from my local club for months and because he was a friend of my other friend who was a bouncer he agreed to come around for dinner one night. I was cooking a five course meal for the first time and my friend and brought his girlfriend along too as I was incredibly shy! Anyway...I'll never forget this meal for as long as I live. It was of chinese origin but because I had never eaten a five course meal before I didn't know anything about quantities.

After the first course (Starters) I bought out the second dish. After the second dish I bought out the third dish...I had not known that my sitters were already full at this point. I had made enough food to cater for the army and as they were too emabarassed to say anything until I went to get the fourth dish, yet another huge amount of various chinese food! They had squeezed the third dish in to be polite but by this time they had to say something as they knew there was no way they could fit any more in without gacking up! I have never felt so embarassed and every time I see this guy he laughs at me now and taps his belly!" (Is there an incling of a possibility that he might still be full up? The Ed)

Hobbies

My Spare Time

Stephanie loves to read and has been one of her favourite pastimes since a little girl. "I used to sit up in bed all night reading sometimes or I would wake early at 4am just to read my books...They were fantastic! No wonder I made such a good actress and it's probably how I got to remember all the casts lines too!"...Stephanie still loves to read now with psychology/sociology/philosophy/psychiatyr/childcare science/astrology/ufology religion/polotics/global warming being her current favourite subjects..."I also love to visit museums and art galleries as it is facinating to know about our history! It's amazing to know how much we have evolved from the day of the caveman but deep down it's absolutly devestated our planet. (You can read more of Stephnaie's views in Steph's Blog)

Stephanie also says that going to discos, church and socialising is another one of her favourite pastimes..."I love being around people and admittidly it is great being life and soul of the party! I have always loved people and get on with most poeple I meet!" (Celebrity status won't be difficult for you when you reach it then?!) "Sometimes I have experienced a bit of jealousy here and there like the time when I had jam tarts thrown at me by this girl once when I was DJing...One of the tarts landed right in the middle of my forehead and it did look funny! I kept it there just to annoy her even more and I was not going to let her spoil my night! We were all having a really good time and it amazes me why people do othe things they do sometimes!" Jam tarts! Ahhh! Everyones favourite!

Disco Inferno

Ok! So have you any 'bad' accounts of jealousy?..."Oh yes! Plenty!"...Stephanie goes on to say... "I was singing on the stage in Kent once. After I finished I stood in the crowd to watch the next performer and I could smell burning. I asked the girl who was standing next to me if she too could smell it?" (What kind of burning was it? Methane? The Ed) "As soon as I realised it was a burning hair smell at least 5 people started tapping on my hair shouting 'Your hairs alight! Oh my God!' which is what I was also thinking myself" (Woh! Talk about losing 70% of ones heat through ones head) "Once the commotion was over I was informed that the girl who was standing next to me had lit my hair purposly with her lighter to whereby I stood back on the stage and thanked her!" (Am I hearing right here? Ed) "Seeing as she had ruined my hair I made a joke of it which annoyed her even more! I shouted out on the mike that I was planning on getting my hair cut that week and the girl had saved me £30! I also finished off by saying 'Eat your heart out Michael Jackson!' before belting out another song!"...That's one way to deal with bullies I guess! Put them to shame whilst putting out the flame! (? Ed)

Hippy Chic

Stephanie likes to retreat and loves nature and you can find her wherever there is an area of Gods work. "I love the countryside and the seaside and mostly anywhere you can get back to reality and be at one with the planet! I meditate frequently and love walking through the woods at the back of my house. The air is so fresh and on a hot summers day when all the fumes and smoke are blocking my airways which I guess is a huge part of global warming, I can always regain my breath amongst the trees!" (Are you a hippy? The Ed) "I have this favourite meditation technique that I use...I imagine myself sitting on the beach and 'I am the sand...I am the sun...I am the sea...I am the trees' etc...It really works! I imagine myself there wherver and whenver I get stressed!" (I am hungry...I am the sandwich in the fridge...Woh! Ed)
