Red Sky Band Page

The Arches, Barnsley, 29th April 2006

Well here we go, another review of yet another amazing Red Sky Gig.  Well what is there to say about this gig other than it showcased some classic songs played ridiculously well by 5 talented (and good looking) guys.  Audience participation wasn’t brilliant due to about half the crowd leaving before Red Sky even went on stage, (it was bedtime for the St. Mick’s kids). However they don’t know what the missed out on though, as Red Sky blazed through a 45 minute set including classics such as ‘Anarchy In The UK’, ‘Bodies’, ‘Brown Sugar’ and everyone’s favourite, ‘Whole Lotta Rosie’, as well as there self penned masterpiece Live Forever. New song ‘Ace of Spades’, by Motorhead also went down a storm, well done lads!

Any good music is better when played live and this band hammers that point home for all to see.  Thinking of buying some new shitty pop CD, why don’t you check out this band instead, great music and a great band.  Enough Said.

Thanks to Jimmy James Bashforth for this review!

Old Crown, Penistone, Easter Sunday 2006

Red Sky performed at the Old Crown, Penistone in the boogie room at the back on Easter sunday! They played a great set even thought the drummer was stranded in Wales and the bassist had buggered of on his hols! Thankfully Gordon from Barnsley band Stormbringer stepped in and did brilliantly! Well done! Dan Byrne, usually rhythm guitarist, managed on bass and was abfab. The set started with "born to be wild" and ran through with "sweet dreams", "anarchy in the UK", their very own song "Live Forever"!!!! Soon to follow were Stormbringer, who were brilliant! Poor Gordon was knackered by the end of the night! Gig review by Hanch x

CITRUS ROOMS 15TH MARCH 2006

Fantastic! Definitely 11/10!

Quite a fan base turned up tonight with around 130 people at the height of the night. Jessops band, The OAP's, warmed the crowed up with some comical dancing in a 6 min set       ( LET'S HEAR SUM NOISE). It was then The Hyde's turn to strut their stuff on stage. They played a great set with a good mix of covers and their own material. Well done boyos! Red Sky graced the stage at about 9.30 and flew straight into "Born to Be Wild" followed by "Blue Suede Shoes" which really got the crowd going. They ended on "Whole Lotta Rosie" which was a great end to a brilliant night. Stage performance was great and people were boogying away all through the set list. New rhythm guitarist, Dan, lived up to expectations and wowed the crowd with his guitar skills along with lead guitarist, Griff, who got lots of attention from the fans and a few requests which involved items of clothing being removed…. Vocalist Fergie was Brilliant and really got people dancing with his moves. Bassist, Chaddy was boring as usual and Drummer, Danny didn’t slip up once and did a special trick on come together! [Attend the next gig to see his skills ] All round a

great night and

hope to see everyone there next time! - Hanch x
