Rebekah Gibbs was born on the 17th March in Torquay, Devon in 1973. From an early age Rebekah wanted to become a performer and therefore enrolled at Pamela De Waal School of Dancing in Paignton, Devon. Here, Rebekah learnt many different dancing techniques including Ballet and Tap. During her time at this school, Rebekah auditioned to become a member of Paignton Pantomime Productions and appeared many times as a Panto babe and senior dancer.

After appearing at the Paignton theatre, Rebekah set her sights higher. Like many students before her, Rebekah decided to attend Doreen Bird’s College in London to further her career. After studying at this college and perfecting her singing and dancing skills, Rebekah graduated in 1993 to start what would be the beginning of a musical West End career……………

Rebekah’s West End career started when she starred in Starlight Express in 1997 playing the character of Buffy the buffet car. Having to master the art of roller-skating whilst singing wasn’t as easy as Rebekah may have thought when during one of the productions, she fell head first into the audience!

In December 1998, Rebekah made her first TV appearance when she starred in the award winning ITV drama, The Bill in an episode called ‘Puzzled.’ It may have only been a small role but for Rebekah it was a great opportunity to star in Television. She played a flirting character called Lucy who worked behind the local bar helping PC Reg Hollis compile a list of questions for the ‘Sun Hill Quiz Night’

Having the mishap from her performance in Starlight Express didn’t stop Rebekah from losing her confidence on the stage as in 1999, Rebekah played man-eater Rizzo in the sell-out tour of Grease. The show did not run smoothly on their opening night in Northampton however, when the show had to be cancelled for the evening after the interval when the fire sprinklers inundated the stage, and the audience in the front row, with water and therefore the cast could not perform the concluding half of the show for safety reasons.

During 2000 - 2001 Rebekah had yet another opportunity to star on stage by gaining the lead role as Carmen Diaz, a student at The New York School for The Performing Arts, in the hit musical Fame which toured the UK.

In 2002, Rebekah appeared across the UK in The Naked Flame as Briony, an undercover reporter ready to expose racism, sexism and indecent exposure. Rebekah had no idea that she would be starring on the television screen with "Dirty Sam" played by Will Thorp in two years time.

Yet another lead role was in Rebekah's grasp when she starred in Time Warp which toured the UK throughout 2003 and in 2004 Rebekah starred in A Chorus Line as Val which took place in Sheffield.

After appearing in the theatre for over 10 years, Rebekah auditioned for a role in the Bristol-based medical drama, Casualty. She won the role of Ambulance Technician Nina Farr. Nina is an ex-army Mechanical Engineer who's parents divorced when she was younger. Living with her Mother, they moved to the Ukraine where she would then meet her future step-Dad and sister, Ellen. Coming back to England when she was 17 was when Nina became involved with the army and later took her hand at training to become an ambulance Technician. This brought her to Holby, the backdrop to Casualty's lifestyle. Ruffling a few feathers on her first shift with her fellow colleagues didn't go down too well, but after settling into the job, Nina found a friend in Mental Health Nurse, Abs - played by James Redmond. As Casualty's 19th series hit our screens, it seemed as though Nina's career as a Technician could be cut short as she injured herself after falling into a large drain just after saving a missing young boy. Rushing back to Holby City Hospital, Harry examines Nina's injuries telling her she may be a quadriplegic, however she does recover! Haunted by what may have been, Nina stayed at Abs' home where they nearly share a kiss until they are interupted by Ellen, happily mentioning that she will be working in Holby. After many ups and downs from Ellen's blackmailing and Abs agreeing to marry Ellen to keep her in the country, Nina is back on track with Abs after a 'Full Monty' performance on New Years Eve 2005, and seeming to get on more with Ellen.

2006 saw the sisterly relationship beginning to build it's bridges between Ellen and Nina. It wasn't long into the year when Nina comforted her sister after finding out that Ellen was pregnant with Consultant Harry's child. It all rests with Nina when she is the one to comfirm the news to Harry that it is infact his child.

In March of that year, Nina's development within the ambulance team had a boost when she decided to train to become a paramedic following an accident at a cross country race. Although Josh repremands her when she carries out a procedure she is not qualified to do, and tells her she must stick to the rules if she wants to succeed.

After finding out Ellen had a molar pregnancy, Nina supports her sister at an Oncology appointment where Ellen finds out she has a form of cancer. Fearing for her life, Ellen reluctantly breaks down infront of her sister where Nina explains she will be there every step of the way. In such a powerful scene in episode 34, viewers saw the struggle Nina had to face when cutting Ellen's long blonde hair following the news that Ellen would need a stronger form of chemo. This was such a hard scene to film for both actresses, as it had to be filmed in one take and everything had to be done exactly right. Rebekah nearly fainted after the director called cut!

Cracks began to show between Abs and Nina's relationship when Abs finds out Ellen is in hospital fighting her cancer. He confronts Nina asking why she didn't tell him, but he later shows his support in trying to help both sisters. As Ellen responds more to her therapy, she repays Abs and Nina with a gift in the form of a camper van and suggests they move back in together.

With new paramedic Greg Fallon joining Holby, Abs begins to turn into the green eyed monster when he spots Nina and Greg getting on so well. The heat hits boiling temperature when Greg plants a playful kiss on Nina in the A&E department to prove he is not gay. The couple's relationship hits a rocky road when Abs tries to organise time to spend a quality evening with Nina, however she is fed up with staying in and instead throws a party for some of the A&E staff without telling Abs. This later results in the pair having an arguement when Abs returns home to find the party in full swing and Nina paying more attention to Greg. After telling Abs their relationship is over, Abs sees red when Nina is comforted by Greg in the ambulance.

Nina breaks the rules again whilst on her shift when she helps a seriously ill man leave the hospital to return to his boat. When Josh wants to speak to her, she thinks she is in trouble from this event, however Josh has to break the news that she has to be suspended follwing an incident where she punched a man who had threatened Comfort on their shift on a previous day. At a meeting between Nina and Josh, Nina says she will resign. As she begins to clear some of her things from her locker, Nina overhears on the radio that ambulance crew was needed to help at a barn fire. As instincts take over Nina's body, she forgets about her suspension and takes the motorbike to the scene of the accident. Beginning to feel frustrated that the crew cannot enter the barn, Nina enters the unsafe barn to rescue a boy trapped in some of the rubble. To try and save the boy's life, Nina carries out a procedure under Josh's instruction. She is successful and hailed a hero, although she sticks with her decision to resign.

A party is held for Ellen, celebrating her remission. All the staff are having a great time, however Abs is still feeling upset over his break-up with Nina. Our last moment of Nina sees her singing a farewell rendition of 'You're Just Too Good To Be True.'
