You can reach and impact Scotland for God...

Satan is a liar. This might not be news to you but it’s important to say it because I bet you have heard one of his biggest whoppers. And, sadly, maybe swallowed it. Are you ready? Here it is:

Distributing Christian literature is a waste of time; people don’t respond.

Have you heard that one? Did you/do you believe it? Fact is, results from literature distribution have often been less than inspiring for churches. I have a theory why this is so. I think it’s because satan is a liar. BUT WE TOO OFTEN BELIEVE HIS LIES. What makes me say this? Because God sent His Word. Not His picture. The message is the Word. The Word works. Jesus works. People read. Now, more than ever. Even in this mp3/cd/iPod world. People read newspapers, magazines, books, their PC screens etc. etc.

“But they don’t want to read about Jesus,” some satan-believing neghead will say. But guess who proved them wrong? Not Billy Graham. Not Kenneth Copeland or Joyce Meyer. Not even the Lord. A guy called Dan Brown has proved FOREVER that “People don’t want to read about Jesus” is one of satan’s biggest all-time fallacies. The Da Vinci Code is perhaps the best opportunity we have had for years to tell people the real deal about Jesus.

 A Christian business.

Fountain Distribution is part of Letterbox Scotland. We deliver advertising literature door to door and via mailshot for many businesses and organisations in Scotland. Our primary purpose is to reach Scottish households and businesses with the Gospel. Our commercial clients pay for this. Our vision is, in line with Scotland for Jesus, to see Scotland engulfed in the fires of revival. It is important to stress that we don't see what we do as business but as ministry. The business we are in exists solely to promote the Gospel. We see ourselves as a Great Commission Company.

Jean Darnall's Vision of Revival in Scotland

"Suddenly a vision appeared within my mind. It had come twice before. I saw the British Isles glistening like a clump of jade in the grey seas surrounding them. Looking down I saw Scotland, England, Wales, and to the north-west, Ireland. The treetops upon the hills and the clustered clouds hid the people. Suddenly small flickering fires appeared. They were scattered over the isles. I came closer to the land. The light was fire light. These were fires burning from the top of Scotland to Land's End on the tip of Cornwall. Lightning streaked downward from the sky above me. I saw it touch down with flashing swiftness, exploding each of the fires into streams of light. Like lava they burned their fiery path downward from the top of Scotland to Land's End. The waters did not stop this, but the fires spread across the seas to Ireland and to Europe.

""Lord, this is the third time you've shown me this vision during prayer. Could you give me the meaning of it?" I asked, deeply moved by the Holy Spirit. He revealed to me that the small fires were groups of earnest, hungry people who were being drawn together by the Holy Spirit to study their Bibles and to pray for a visitation of the Holy Spirit. The words "pockets of power" were impressed upon my mind. "I'm empowering them by my Holy Spirit and I'm teaching them by my Spirit about my gifts. They are being led by my Spirit to repentance, reconciliation and a deeper relationship with the body of Christ. These people are meeting in homes and churches - I'm not leading them out of their relationships in the home and in the church, but into a deeper involvement in both. They are to bring renewal, new life, in preparation for what is to come."

""What is to come, Lord?", I asked, wondering why he should show this to me.

""I will penetrate the darkness with a visitation of my power. With lightning swiftness I will release the power of my Spirit through a renewed people who have learned to be led of the Spirit. They will explode with a swiftness that will touch every part of the society of Britain. I am strategically placing them to touch the farms, villages, towns and cities. No one will be without a witness, whether they be children in the schools, farmers in the fields, workers in the factories and docks, students in the universities and colleges, the media, the press, the arts or government. All will be profoundly moved and those who are changed by my power will alter the destiny of the nation."

""And the streams of fire into Europe, Lord?" My mind seemed to see an army of all types of people moving into the continent with a compassionate ministry. This ministry was not mass meetings, led by powerful personalities, preaching to spectators, but participating, caring communities involved with one another at grass roots level, sharing the love of God everywhere."

Why Leaflet?

Why not?

Leafletting is arguably the best way of reaching anyone in the world we now live in. Websites and Christian TV channels are wonderful but they are passive marketing. You rely on people to flick or click to get to you. And if they don't know you even have a website, how can they click on to it? A leaflet could tell them!! Leaflets are heralds. They are interruption marketing but in the most acceptable form. Let's face it: if you stick a leaflet through someone's letterbox, they have to pick it up. And they have to at least glance at it to decide whether or not to bin it. There's a good chance they will keep it and read it.

I remember once years ago walking through the streets of Scotland with Arthur Blessitt. I love Arthur; he is an amazing guy and a great man of God. He has led thousands to Jesus. But I am about to say something which I know he will readily endorse: Leaflets telling people about Jesus are often more effective than good old-fashioned witnessing. Especially in this day we live in. And particularly in terms of their capacity to reach people. Let's just say you are a pastor with a church of 100 people. How many people do you reach every week? At best 100, right? But let's say you used Fountain Distribution to leaflet your town/community. You could reach many, many more.

Arthur Blessitt can only speak to so many people in a given time. But Arthur's secret is he blasts out tracts wherever he goes. Tracts (I prefer the word "leaflet") speak to people when they are most receptive. They speak long after the person giving them has gone. I want to be bold and say this: if you don't believe tracts/leaflets work, you don't believe the Gospel works. And if you don't believe the Gospel works, no wonder you can't get a crowd.

The purpose of our leafletting service is to spread the Good News to the people of Scotland. We want to see churches packed. We want to see YOUR church packed. Leaflets are definitely not the only way. They might not even be the best way. But they are seeds. And people are God's soil. Man was made from the dust of the earth so he is Divinely designed to receive and grow seed. And your community needs the HEAVENLY seed of God's Word to be planted in them.

And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature." MARK 16:15 NKJV

I want to ask you a question: what are you doing to fulfill this Commission in your community? Can I put it to you that a great way of doing it would be to regularly saturate your local area with leaflets. "I've tried that and it doesn't work." How do you know? Who knows what benefits giving out leaflets, books, tapes etc has on people? Like I said, if you believe it doesn't work, then you must believe the Gospel is useless. According to your faith be it unto you... Excuse me for being harsh but the hour is late. And a multitude of people saturated with pornography, evolutionary teaching and anti-christian political correctness need what you have. The Truth.

Funnily enough, the people working at Daily Record, The Sun and The Herald don't believe print literature doesn't work. And the hundreds of companies who have leaflets delivered regularly don't believe that leaflets don't work. Royal Mail don't believe that people don't want to read anymore so what's the point in sticking readable stuff through their doors? But the devil isn't lying to them.

This is, we are told, the postmodern era. Permission marketing is in. Permission evangelism is the most effective way to reach people. It's hard to argue with this. In 21st Century Scotland, you won't find it easy to make people listen to you about anything. You need their permission. That is the way of society, where individual sovereignty and consumer choice is the dominant mindset. But even in this paradigm, people need and want to be interrupted and confronted with choices; or else, how can you choose if you are not presented with choices? Leaflets are God's answer to the postmodern generations. Short, sharp, to-the-point and non-threatening. If you want more, go further. Click on, flick to, send e-mail, phone, text or snailmail. And if you are not interested in going further, you can toss it away or use it to put your coffee mug on.

Leaflets change lives. We have all heard of the many outstanding Christians saved by tracts who went on to get many millions saved. That's the power of leaflets. You have to think of them as seeds. Miracle seeds. That's what they are. If not, what are we in this Gospel business for? You might give a leaflet to someone who then clicks on your website, gets saved and becomes the next Billy Graham or Reinhard Bonnke. That's the power of one seed.

Scotland is a field waiting for seed. Will you be a sower?
