Right now there is a genocide, a mass murder, taking place in the Darfur region of Sudan, Africa. It is estimated the at least 400,000 people in Darfur have been killed and at least 1.2 million people have been forced out of their villages by a government-supported militia known as the Janjaweed. Currently, the UN is trying to send peacekeeping forces to Drafur, but the Sudanese governmentwill not cooperate. We cannot let that stop us from saving every one of these precious lives.
We, Elm Place Middle School students, have created a project called "Reach for Change." The purpose of Reach for Change is to raise awarness about the Darfur genocide. We are asking you to color as many paper dolls as you can which will be used as a visual of the genocide and to raise awarness about the genocide. Our goal is to collect 400,000 paper dolls, representing the estimated 400,000 people who have died in the genocide so far. Please share this project with family and friends so that Darfur can be saved!
To help us reach our goal we need 400,000 paper dolls and we are asking you to help us reach that goal to save Darfur. Please download and print the doll template from this link here:
