Raw Food Supply

Welcome to Raw Food Supply!!

A little about me to begin with...

My name is Stormi.  I raise and show Shih Tzu, and own a German Shepherd.  I also do a great many other things (see the links page)...  I am also a distributor of raw food.

I have been feeding raw food for close to 3 years now.  I have to say, I will never resort back to a kibble based diet.  However, my puppies still get kibble (yick) - but only because I know (unfortunately) many folks may not want to keep with the raw diet.  Why is that??  It is because many folks are uneducated about raw food, and many times the first response is ... "Raw food?  Like uncooked?" or "Gross!!".

Please feel free to read through this site for some more information.

About Raw

Raw food is as the name implies... raw food.  There are many named diets out there (BARF,PREY, etc) as well as tons of information.  However, most times, the information is so much, that it can become over whelming, and people think that is difficult.  I personally suggest to do a bit of research, ask some questions, and make the "diet model" meet your own and your dogs needs.  It is only as difficult as you make it.

As far as expense, it is cheaper to feed a raw diet vs. a kibble based diet on both the short and long run.

Just for an idea...and this is approximate :

I will use 600 lbs. as my basis.

600 lbs of kibble ( 37.5 bags @ 14.00 ) is  525.00, without tax.  600 lbs of raw food (which I recently bought), cost  me appx 250-275.00, and no tax.
Now while the kibble is about 88cents/lb (not including tax) , the raw is about 46cents per lb. , so about 1/2 the price.  The raw food also does not have fillers and no suppliments are needed.

However, when I fed kibble, I also fed canned food.  I know many people also do.  Add in that cost, as well!!

You also can factor in time spent for outdoor clean up, suppliments (vitamins, coat suppliments, etc) and vet visits, such as : dental, anal gland issues, yeast problems, scaly skin, and so forth that will not really be needed any longer when moved onto a raw diet.

Long term benefits of raw:
Gorgeous teeth (my dogs could be posted children for teeth whitening ads, I envy their teeth)
No doggie smell
Allergy issues decrease
Gorgeous coats that shine
Skin issues decrease
No outdoor clean up.  *Feces from a dog fed a raw diet will turn to white (due to the calcium) and crumble within days, and be "gone".  It also has no smell.
Better diet, no additives/fillers

There of course are tons more, but that is just a few!
