Welcome to Ravensworth Junction
Ravensworth Junction is a DCC controlled 'OO' gauge operated principally in the British Rail Blue era. This is intended eventually to be shown possibly at Exhibition’s. The layout is based on a small yard, set in a rural area situated along from a MOD base. A small chemical facility is located near by. There is a small stabling point for loco's, for fuel and light maintenance. Traffic into the yard consists of small amounts of domestic coal, wood, fertilizer and other associated agricultural stock. A weekly trip of fuel oil is also brought in by rail. Freight traffic passing through consists of coal, chemicals and MOD traffic to the nearby storage point. Locos on freight trains for the chemical plant will also run round in the station area. Passenger traffic will be in the form of DMU's, some terminating and some through trains. The layout is 8ft X 2ft, on two 4ft X 2ft baseboards, based on a rural branch line set sometime between 1980 and 1984. Keep checking back over the next few weeks when more photos of stock and the construction process will be online
