Simple Treasures

She looked across the garden
heard the lazy hum of a bee flying past
The sudden trill of a bird
The bark of a dog in the distance
Saw the vibrant greens of the trees and plants
The brilliant colors of flowers
and the deep blue dome in the sky
Simple treasures that she would miss
because she was dying.
