Wow, does this site bring back some fond memories or what! Travelling around the country to find that field in the middle of no-where. Listening to all the Pirates as it was the only place to hear the tunes we loved on a regular basis. I am now 36 and have gone form Raver-Pirate DJ - Raver and back so many times and still get the feeling when i hear tunes from back in the day!
Just love the site, i sent up a company back in 1988 called Up-Front Promotions UK, we started flyer distrabution for all the rave promoters, we then started to put our own events up and down the uk. We are still doing the do now, and trying to keep the vibe alive from back then. Big up all crews

Fair play. Great site that's now permanently on my favourites. It's funny reading the comments from all the ex-ravers like myself. It really was as good as it ever gets. Nights and days and early mornings that you'll never forget. The music and the pills were a match made in heaven. Unless you'd done it you can't explain the utter joy you could get from dancing all night to music that seemed so right. I'm getting a tear in my eye right now. Rave on.
I got my name from taking my bongos which I took with me to every rave. I went to my 1st rave at the hummingbird in Birmingham in 91, it had a wall of base and I had a double dove and flew...what a night ;o) I used to go out with the Messe Posse, from Bedford, our local haunt was Millwaukies and I got in for free 'cos of the Bongos. My fave raves were raindance at Jenkins Lane, in the big top, it used to rain inside 'cos of all the nutters getting so hot...I used to get called up on the stage by the Hardcore General, to play me Bongos, I was never very good 'cos I was always off me tits but the crowd loved it...God they were the best days of my life and we were all sooooo lucky to be a part of it..
