We all spend many days and hours per week in various places, while some are lucky enough to listen to the radio at work, the rest of us look forward to that chance while driving home. Sure, we look forward to the music which hopefully helps us forget about the traffic backups. And yes, the contests are certainly a nice thing, if and when we can get through on the phone lines for a chance to win some prize.
But what about the Jock behind the microphone? Are they really as good as they claim to be? Are they as nice in person as they are on the air?
Radio stations are like every other business, they're out to make money. Problem is, they don't listen to US, the listeners, because the only ones they really DO listen to, are the advertisers. If you're holding the wallet, they pay attention.
So here's our attempt to change all that. Our reviewers and critics are professionals in the music and radio business who are not currently active in this market in either field. Most reviews will be anonymous though a few may choose a pseudonym, some may post their names.
We do NOT pay attention to Arbitron. After all, those of us "in the know" realize that Arbitron is hardly fair! And membership to Arbitron is rediculously expensive. We provide a sampling of stations from the area at various intervals throughout the year. Reviews are updated after about six months.
