I, hereafter referred to as the Adopter, hereby agree that the animal, described above, is being adopted by me solely as a pet, that is NOT to be bred from, for myself and my immediate family. I agree to the adoption fee of $_____, which helps cover RRR's expense of raising and caring for the animal. I agree that I will not sell, give away, or otherwise dispose of the above animal to any person, dealer, retailer, auction, institute, or any other entity or abandon this animal for any reason.
If at a later date I am unable or unwilling to keep this pet, I agree to first contact RRR for the option to reclaim this animal at no charge.
I hereby agree to contact RRR if the animal becomes seriously ill, or develops a condition which may be genetic - thus enabling RRR to take health traits into consideration when breeding from different lines, so as to improve the pet population. I agree to care for the above described animal in a humane and responsible manner, and follow all of the below terms:
1) Adopter agrees to always provide a companion of the same sex and species for the above described animal. If its companion dies, Adopter will provide another companion, the only exception being if the animal in question rejects a companion or is too old to receive a companion in a timely manner.
2) Adopter agrees to provide proper and adequate housing. This includes NOT using pine or cedar bedding, ensuring the cage has proper ventilation, and ensuring the animal is not placed in direct sunlight nor next to a vent or open window. Adopter agrees to regularly clean the cage so the animal is not forced to live in unsanitary conditions.
3) Adopter agrees to provide a proper diet and clean water at all times. Adopter understands the importance of proper nutrition for the animal and will meet those needs as best as possible.
4) Adopter agrees to provide proper medical care if the above described animal becomes ill or is injured. Adopter understands that all animals, regardless of size or initial price, need medical care at some time in their life.
5) Adopter understands that the above described animal is healthy on the day of adoption. If the animal falls ill after the adoption day, RRR is in no way responsible, but is willing to take the animal back if Adopter chooses not to care for the animal through its time of illness. Adopter also understands he/she is not entitled to a refund and must pay any transport costs if he/she chooses to return the animal.
6) Adopter understands and agrees that should he/she no longer be able to properly care for the above described animal that he/she can return it to RRR. Should Adopter return the animal, he/she understands he/she is not entitled to a refund or replacement and must pay any transport costs.
7) Adopter understands and agrees that if the above describe animal is intended to be a gift that RRR is to be notified. Adopter also understands and agrees that any person receiving said animal as gift is also to follow the terms outlined in this contract. Adopter understands and agrees that if the situation does not work out as planned, RRR has the right to demand the animal back and Adopter is not entitled to a refund or replacement and must pay any transport costs.
8) Adopter agrees NEVER to intentionally breed the above described animal without special, hand written permission from RRR.
9) Adopter understands that if he/she chooses to breed the above described animal without special, hand written permission from RRR, that RRR has the right to demand the above described animal, as well as all offspring of said animal and that Adopter is not entitled to a refund and must pay any transport costs for the confiscated animals.
10) Adopter understands that it is his/her responsibility to ensure there are no accidental litters involving the above described animal. If an accidental litter occurs, Adopter understands and agrees it is his/her responsibility to care for all offspring and to find them appropriate pet-only homes which RRR agree's with and the new owners must sign this adoption contract. Adopter understands and agrees that if he/she cannot provide homes for all offspring RRR the breeder of said animal has the right to demand all offspring as well as said animal. Adopter understands that in this circumstance he/she is not entitled to a refund and must pay any transport costs for the confiscated animals.
11) Adopter understands and agrees that if he/she does not follow this contract, RRR has the right to demand above described animal be returned and that Adopter is not entitled to a refund or replacement and must pay any transport costs.
12) If Adopter is under 18 years of age, Adopter’s guardian understands and agrees that he/she is responsible for the care of the above described animal. Guardian agrees to all the above terms.
13) Adopter has full knowledge of any additional provisions written below. Adopter has discussed these provisions with RRR and agrees to abide by these provisions.
Adopter’s signature indicates that he/she has reviewed and discussed this contract with RRR PRIOR to receiving above rat and is in full agreement and approval of the above terms and conditions.

I agree that I will adopt out offspring of the above animal as pets only to responsible individuals who agree to properly care for and house the animals.
