The FluteTronic 8-Bit is a new way of making noise.
It is held
like a flute and uses light sensors to detect finger and mouth
position. The light entering the finger holes determines the frequency
of the sound. The light entering the mouth piece determines the vibrato
level.
The wooden box contains the electronics which consists
of the speaker, circuit board, battery, on/off switch and the output
audio jack. The box is finished in beeswax.
The hand-piece is
made from a plastic tube and contains light sensors and an LED which
gives an indication of input sensor levels.
The output is via an internal speaker and 3.5mm stereo socket which can be plugged into earphones, computer sound card or mixer.
