Over a period of time,old files such as temporary files,cookies and MANY others will clog up your PC and take up TONS of space. Also, old and unused registry entries will slow down your system dramatically. I use an AWESOME piece of software called Ccleaner(short for Crap Cleaner.) This wonderful piece of completely FREE software optimizes your PC's performance by removing unused files,cleaning your registry and erasing temporary files that are no longer needed. It also has a complete add/remove module that allows you to delete software that you no longer use. It will also clear your internet cache files which will speed up your web browsing. The very best way to have a virus-free and smooth running system is to dump Windows altogether and run a Linux-based PC. However,many people today are completely clueless when it comes to anything other than Windows. I have a way that you can have the best of BOTH worlds. The solution is called WUBI.
