Raising the Praise

To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;

A time to kill, and a time to heal; a time to break down, and a time to build up;

A time to weep, and a time to laugh; a time to mourn, and a time to dance;

A time to cast away stones, and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace, and a time to lose; a time to refrain from embracing;

A time to get, and a time to lose; a time to keep, and a time to cast away;

A time to rend, and a time to sew; a time to keep silence, and a time to speak;

A time to love, and a time to hate; a time of war, and a time of peace

Ecclesiastes 3:1-8

Friday night we received a call that a close friend had delivered her healthy baby boy.  A few hours later we received a call that my grandfather had passed away!  

We embrace the new child and in the same breathe let go of the ones we love!  What plans does God have for this baby boy?  The answer to this question we do not know; nevertheless we know that God has a special plan!  What about grandpa?  Oh how we mourne his passing, yet we rejoice today because we know that he is in the presence of God!  We rejoice today because we know his race has been completed and he endured as a good soldier! 

If you are reading this now, you are enjoying life; you've been given another moment to cherish!  Yet, death is real (if Jesus should prolong His return) we may go by way of the grave!  Do you have hope?  Do you know that if you should take your last breath you will be in the presence of God?  Do you know?

Don't wait to find out!  Don't put off until tomorrow what you can take care of today!  We do not know when our time will arrive, but we do know that someday we will face God!
