Catherine's Crab
Edith

Feeding:

Crabs eat the following:
* Lance fish
* Blood worm
* Apple
* Carrot
* Brine shrimp
* Lettuce
* Cucumber
* Grapes
* Cuttle fish
* Seeds
* Crest
* Almonds

It is essential that a rainbow crab should be fed fish and shrimp daily. Crabs need the extra calcuim and protein in order to grow a new healthy shell and shed successfully.

You should always remove any un-eaten food the next day and put boiling water into the food bowl every other day to stop the risk of bacteria!

You may also notice that your crab stops eating a few months prior to shedding, this is normal. You will also notice that crabs require less food as they reach adulthood as they longer need a calcuim rich diet as they are not shedding!

"I find a good staple diet is a quality turtle/terrapin feed (I use "King British", which contains dried river shrimp, ocean shrimp, krill and vegetable pellets). This needs to be dampened to make it softer. Of course I supplement this with the lance fish and fruit and veg like banana etc " - peter.
