Introduction
Wands out everyone, and welcome to the January lesson of Duelling. I believe you will be glad to know that much of the theoretical portion of the class is done, and now you will have the opportunity to go straight into the practical parts of duelling, which is always more interesting ;)
Now I expect you all to be well aware of the safety rules regarding duelling. If not, they are:
Secrets of Duelling
Now duelling is more then just facing a fellow wizard and shooting spells at each other at point blank. Actually, that form of duelling is only done with inexperienced wizards or witches and quite often can have either party end up in St. Mungo's. No, duelling is an art of skill, speed, grace, movement, knowledge and courage. Now because we are still in the primary levels of duelling, we're going to start you off on duelling against beasts, as they are less complex and less dangerous then a fellow student. (And there will be less of a chance you will end up under the care of Madam Pomfrey in the infirmary) The beast of choice for this lesson (and assignment) is... a boggart as it is the most easiest to defend against.
And here is where the art of duelling divides. One that is done in real time (IRC), and another down the pathway of dangers and despair... or just to the location in the forum where non-IRC users can also participate though I will highly appreciate it if you'd converge towards the IRC version of duelling as it is easier to judge. So just open up to the respective pages in the books so we can move on to how to duel:
