Where Are We?

Our  main headquarters are  in the Metro. Detroit area in the state of Michigan, but we have members from all over the state.

Our Purpose

We the Dark Ages Living History Association are a handful of devoted individuals who focus on providing an accurate and educational portrayal of the Dark Ages period of history (450 A.D. to 1100 A.D.) Our group’s main focus is to provide accurate historical re-enactments and encampments with an emphasis on the daily lives of the time. We concentrate largely (but not only) on an accurate and educational portrayal of the Norse/Viking people and to provide information to all who are interested.

Mission Statement

The mission of the Dark Ages Living History Association is for our members to come together in an effort to portray and demonstrate the life styles of  many of the people of the Dark Ages time period (450 A.D. to 1100 A.D.). We welcome all who wish to participate in this undertaking and wish to educate those who are misinformed about the life styles of these various people. We will attempt to display this time frame, which will include but is not limited to the various Scandinavian peoples as well as the Jutes, Gauls, Anglos, Saxons, Picts, Huns, Romano-Brits and all others who had contact with them from within their time frame. Our member’s personas and cultures may be diverse, but our goals are all the same, to accurately portray the people of the time. We embrace all who desire to examine all the Dark Ages environments,  civilizations and cultures that we have to offer.
