RADO, POET of the FREEDOM, the BROTHERHOOD 

"you are a poet of the Freedom by fighting with those who are still under the yoke of the colonization. You knew how to consolidate the brotherhood which connects us to the Africans in "Mainty aho" (I am black). Although the channel of Mozambique is very deep and even if I believe that adds us oriental, the brotherhood which you preach is that of all the humanity. "Tu es un poète de la Liberté en luttant avec ceux qui sont encore sous le joug de la colonisation. Tu as su conforter la fraternité qui nous lie aux Africains dans "Mainty aho" (Je suis noir).

Bien que le canal de Mozambique soit très profond et même si je crois que nous somme des orientaux, la fraternité que tu prêches est celle de toute l'humanité. 3 - RADO, POET of the UNIVERSALISM

" ... Rado can be considered as one of the best Malagasy committed poets. Commitment in all the meanings of the term. Many poets are considered as committed poets because they write poems inspired by a political situation. It is not the case of Rado; his poems are narratives not sweetened by his active participation and intimate in the life of the malagasy society.

Its short speech during its reception to the Malagasy Academy allows to understand better the attitude of the man poet in front of the political and social events which shook and still shake the malagasy society. It also brings to light the intimate link between the life to the everyday life and his work...

His true peculiarity lives in his universalism. For Rado all the men are brothers and all his poems express this conviction. His poems on South Africa and on Mozambique were of use as model to many Malagasy poets of the 70s and 80, that they are of language Malagasy or French.

Every situation of injustice awakens in him senses of shame, impotence and revolt. But, since we expect to find lamentations and shouts of despair there, his poems are unlike the hymns of hope. The beauty of a text as "Maty" (She died) likes the expression of a feeling which is out of the ordinary for a Malagasy: encenser a loose woman and to translate this emotion into any simplicity. Moving prayer which touches us by this express: " Give her the sky because she has already lived her hell here low ".

RADO, SA PARTICULARITE RESIDE DANS SON UNIVERSALISME

" ...Rado peut être considéré comme l'un des meilleurs poètes engagés malgaches. Engagement dans tous les sens du terme. Beaucoup de poètes se considèrent ou sont considérés comme poètes engagés parce qu'ils écrivent des poèmes inspirés par une situation politique. Ce n'est pas le cas de Rado dont les poèmes sont des récits non édulcorés de sa participation active et intime à la vie de la société malgache.

Son allocution lors de sa réception à l'Académie malgache permet de mieux comprendre l'attitude de l'homme poète devant les événements politiques et sociaux qui ont secoué et secouent encore la société malgache. Elle met aussi en évidence le lien intime entre la vie au quotidien et son œuvre...

Sa vraie particularité réside dans son universalisme. Pour Rado tous les hommes sont frères et tous ses poèmes expriment cette conviction. Ses poèmes sur l'Afrique du Sud et sur le Mozambique ont servi de modèle à beaucoup de poètes malgaches des années 70 et 80, qu'ils soient de langue malgache ou française….

Chaque situation d'injustice éveille en lui des sentiments de honte, d'impuissance et de révolte. Mais, dès lors qu'on s'attend à y trouver des lamentations et des cris de désespoir, ses poèmes sont au contraire des hymnes d'espoir. La beauté d'un texte comme "Maty" (Elle est morte) tient à l'expression d'un sentiment qui sort de l'ordinaire pour un malgache : encenser une fille de joie et traduire cette émotion en toute simplicité. Prière émouvante qui nous touche par son ton direct : "Donne-lui le ciel car elle a déjà vécu son enfer ici-bas". Le poète se rapproche de ceux qui sont exclus de la société.
