RADO, 1923 - 2008 malagasy Journalist Poet

RADO'S WORKS

Rado owes to his father, minister FJKM, his love for the language and the malagasy old values. He introduces him in the TORITENY (sermon), in the KABARY (traditional malagasy speeches) and in the music.

He owes his knowledge to the props of the malagasy literature such as the Patriot Minister Ravelojaona and Minister Ravaojanahary Alphonse of the church FJKM Tranovato Faravohitra, one of the first novelists of the literature modern Malagasy.

Rado is a complete artist.

He exercises his talents in the painting (speciality: the poker-work), the poetry, the theater and the music.

1 - RADO MUSICIAN

In the field of the music, Rado is an author composer of malagasy hymns and varieties. Rado has about twenty hymns inspired by the Gospel.

His pieces of music are known of all the Malagasy.

Moreover in 2007, another book of hymns is in preparation for the publication.

As regards the musical variety show, besides his own compositions "N’inon' inona" (Everything) "Aza avela hahalala" (do not accept), some of Rado’s poems are put in music and sung as "Matoa" (Because) or "Maty ilay mpivaro-tena" (The prostitute died), respectively by the big malagasy composer-songwriters Ramaroson Wilson and Bessa.

2 - THE POET OF THE UNIVERSALISM

The Rado’s poems are HYMNS OF HOPE in front of injustices imposed on the man on this planet where our sums EVERY BROTHERS.

Rado wrote eight books the majority of which evoke essentially the pride Malagasy.

2.1 - FIGHT IN FRONT OF MALAGASY NATIONAL EVENTS

RADO is an activist of the party of opposition AKFM of front the Independence.

RADO chose to write in Malagasy, although possessing French, to express his revolt against the acculturation of his people.

He expresses it in his poem "Vahiny" (Stranger)

1961 "Ry fahafahana" (Freedom) during the seizure of its newspaper

- employed by the Ministry of Culture and the Revolutionary Art.

1972 POEMS

- "Dia ho nisy ve?" (Would it have been able to exist ?)

- "Mahazo maty" (you can die now) stand for the defence of the participants against his party which had raised itself against the Movement of revolt.

- 1991 PAMPHLET "BOLOKY" (PARROT) His support for the youth "hope of tomorrow" and so He faces the authority current.  

- He contributes to help the young people who want to learn about the art of Kabary.

- He cries out his poems on scene during certain cultural events and on the waves of the malagasy Radio or on the Television.

2.2 – FIGHT N FRONT OF INTERNATIONAL EVENTS

- 1973 " DINITRA " (sweat) Antananarivo: Madprint - First collection of poems introduced by his brother, contains all the subjects which are dear to him: God, the Homeland and the Amur. He collects the poems written since 1943 (poems on the apartheid in South Africa, on the fratricide fights notably in Rhodésie, on the war of Vietnam)

- "Sedra" (Events) Collection of poems dedicated to friends or members of the family of the poet died.

- "Zo" (right) claims the right(law) of the Amur, Expression and Freedom.

- 2003 "Voninkazo adaladala" (Flowers in madness) This collection is available, besides, on audio CD. His 7^th collection of hundred seventy nine poems written during eighty years.

3 - THE SECRETS OF A WEIGHTY PERSONALITY - Olga HELISOA

His Christian education and his mother's death strongly stood out his personality. 

3.1 - His Christian education brought to him:

- the rigour in the work and the life 

- the sincerity and the depth of the feelings, specially the respect for the universal fundamental values of the humanity.  

3.2 - The death of his mother: Rado was 10 years old
Painful test for a child whose personality will be strengthened by the accentualtion of the qualities (lucid observation of the events, the realistic approach of the human beings and their situations). The small Georges's  feelings will more be sharpened: 
- The Malagasy, the noble-hearted man will become clearer more and more with the age, 
- The feather of the journalist will be put in the service of the humanism (fight against the injustice).

Rado doit à son père, un  pasteur, le goût de la langue et des valeurs anciennes malgaches. C’est lui qui l'initie aux TORITENY (sermon), aux KABARY (Discours) et à la musique.

Il doit ses connaissances aux piliers de la littérature malgache tels que le Patriote Pasteur Ravelojaona et la Pasteur Ravaojanahary Alphonse de l’église FJKM Tranovato Faravohitra, un des premiers romanciers de la littérature malgache moderne.

Rado est un artiste complet. Il exerce ses talents dans la peinture (spécialité: la pyrogravure), la poésie, le théâtre et la musique.

1 - RADO MUSICIEN

Dans le domaine de la musique, Rado est auteur compositeur de cantiques et de variétés malgaches. 

Rado a à son actif une vingtaine de cantiques inspirés de l'Evangile.

Ses oeuvres musicales sont connues de tous les Malgaches. 

D'ailleurs en 2007, un autre livre de cantiques est en préparation pour la publication. 

En ce qui concerne les variétés musicales, outre ses propres compositions "N'inon'inona" (Tout)  "Aza avela hahalala" (N'accepte pas que l'on sache...), quelques uns des poèmes de Rado sont mis en musique et chantés comme "Matoa" (Parce que…) ou "Maty ilay mpivaro-tena"(La prostituée est morte), respectivement par de grands artistes auteurs-compositeurs malgaches Ramaroson Wilson et Bessa.

2 - LE POETE DE L’UNIVERSALISME

Les poèmes de Rado sont des HYMNES D’ESPOIR face aux injustices infligées à l’homme sur cette planète où nos sommes TOUS FRERES.

Rado a à son actif huit livres dont la majorité évoque essentiellement la fierté malgache.

 

2.1 - LUTTE FACE AUX EVENEMENTS NATIONAUX MALGACHES

Rado est un militant du parti d'opposition AKFM d'avant l'Indépendance.

RADO a choisi d’écrire en malgache, bien que possédant le français, pour exprimer sa révolte contre l'acculturation de son peuple. Il l’exprime dans son poème "Vahiny" (Etranger).

Il contribue à aider les jeunes qui veulent s'initier à l'art du Kabary

Il clame ses poèmes sur scène lors de certaines manifestations culturelles et sur les ondes de la Radio ou à la Télévision malgaches.

 

2.2 - LUTTE FACE AUX EVENEMENTS INTERNATIONAUX

- 1973 "DINITRA" (Sueur) Antananarivo: Madprint - Premier recueil de poèmes préfacé par son frère, contient tous les thèmes qui lui sont chers : Dieu, la Patrie et l'Amour.  Il rassemble les poèmes écrits depuis 1943 (des poèmes sur l'apartheid en Afrique du Sud, sur les luttes fratricides notamment en Rhodésie, sur la guerre du Vietnam)

- "Sedra" (Epreuves) Recueil de poèmes dédiés à des amis ou membres de la famille du poète décédés.

- "Zo" (Droit) revendique le droit d'Amour, d’Expression et de Liberté.

- 2003 "Voninkazo adaladala" (Fleurs en folie) avec cassette Audio 7ème recueil de cent soixante dix neuf poèmes écrits au cours de quatre-vingt ans

3 - LES SECRETS D’UNE PERSONNALITE DE POIDS

Son éducation chrétienne et la mort de sa mère ont fortement marqué la personnalité de Rado.

L'éducation chrétienne lui apporte:

- la rigueur dans le travail et la vie

- la sincérité et la profondeur des sentiments surtout le respect des Valeurs Fondamentales Universelles.

La mort de sa mère:  Rado avait 10 ans

Douloureuse épreuve pour un enfant de 10 ans dont la personnalité sera fortifiée par l'accentuation des qualités telles que l'observation lucide des événements, l'approche réaliste des humains et leurs situations. Les sentiments du petit Georges seront plus aiguisés:

- le Malgache, homme de coeur se précisera de plus en plus avec l'âge,

- la plume du journaliste sera mis au service du l'humanisme (lutte contre l'injustice)
