HISTORIQUE

Upem est née le 6 Septembre 1952 grâce à l’initiative de 15 poètes et écrivains malgaches qui sont : Régis Rajemisa Raolison, Elie Charles Abraham, Daud Ratsarazaka, Nivo-Hary, Flavien Ranaivo, Jean Verdi Salomon Razakandraina alias Dox, Ener Lalandy (qui vient juste de nous quitter), Pénombre Andriampenomanana, Jean Louis Razafindratre, Odeam Rakoto, Pierre Janvier Abraham, Michel Guste Rakotonirina, Raymond Abraham, Raharison Faustin, Michel Paul Abraham (seul survivant).

Cette union a été révélée par l’amour commun de la langue malgache. Il s’agit de lui rendre sa dignité pour et par une éducation de l’être et de l’âme. Ce qui ne saurait être possible qu’à travers la littérature. Conférences, montages poétiques, émissions radiophoniques, expositions littéraires, visites sous forme de conférence-débat dans les écoles par des écrivains et poètes illustres font partie intégrante du programme de l’Upem, ainsi que les communications permanentes au niveau de l’Académie Malgache.

HAVATSA

Le terme "Havatsa" associé à l’ Upem depuis 55 ans, est traduit en français par "sceau".

Il incite et invite à sentir la marque du sceau de la langue malgache en nous, pour qu’elle soit "tandra vadin-koditra" c’est-à-dire "le grain de beauté qui épouse la peau" qui ne s’enlève pas, qui est incruste, bref qui fait partie de notre identité culturelle.

UPEM "Union of the malagasy Poets and Writers" in Malagasy: UPEM = Fikambanan' ny Poeta sy Mpanoratra Malagasy.

This union was revealed by the malagasy common love of the language. It is to return to its dignity by an education of the being and the soul.

It is possible only through the literature. Conferences, poetic editings, radio programs, literary exhibitions, visits in the form of round table in schools by writers and illustrious poets are a part integral of the program of Upem, as well as the permanent communications at the level of the Malagasy Academy.

HAVATSA

The term "Havatsa" was associated with Upem for 55 years, is translated into French by "seal".
