Episode 11: Road Warriors
Daria and Quinn go to Alternapalooza, a huge concert, while Helen and Jake chase each other around the house. Daria goes with Jane, Jessie, and Trent while Quinn goes with (who else?) The Fashion Club. Daria humiliates herself in front of Trent by hitting her head, sitting on a peanut butter sandwich, being stung by a bee, and having her glasses break. They get stuck in a traffic jam, and Daria is embarassed again when she has to go to the bathroom and Jessie keeps talking about it. Their van breaks down, and Jane and Jessie go for help. Trent plays his guitar for Daria, and she begins to like him even more. Jane fixes the van with the glue gun she's had for the whole episode, but by then the concert is over, and they go back home, while Quinn and the rest of the Fashion Club skip the concert to go outlet shopping.
Episode 12: The Teachings Of Don Jake
The Morgendorffers go camping when Jake pops a blood vessel in his eye from being under too much stress. They tell scary stories which are not so scary after all. In the morning, they all eat berries except Daria. The berries make Helen and Jake run around looking for Jake's "spirit animal," and Quinn keeps talking about the "glitter berries." Daria finds Helen's cellular phone, calls 911, they are flown to a hospital, and the Morgendorffers (except Daria) have their stomachs pumped. Meanwhile, Jane and Trent are forced to go to their family reunion. They are woken up at 7 in the morning, Trent is called a bum by his uncle, Jane is yelled at hysterically by her psychotic grandmother, and they are forced to play croquet. Finally, they can't stand it anymore, and they go to the airport and fly home.
Episode 13: The Misery Chick
Former Lawndale High Quarterback Tommy Sherman is coming back to LH to see a goalpost be put up in his honor. The reason for the goalpost is that he would always show off and run into the goalpost so they put up one that would fall down when someone ran into it instead of hurting them. When Tommy Sherman comes, he is rude to everyone, including Kevin, who idolizes him. He is also self-centered. So Daria wishes he would die and about a minute later, the goalpost falls on him and he dies. When the students find out that Daria wished for it to happen, they start calling her a "misery chick." When Jane starts to ignore Daria, she goes to Jane's house and they talk about it. Jane says that Daria should feel bad about it, but she can't help it. She does feel a little sorry though. So the next day, Sandi tells Daria that her cat OD'd on her foundation and asks Daria for advice. Daria charges her 10 dollars, and says she made a mistake, charging her 10 dollars for advice; next time, 20.
Season Two
Episode 1: Arts 'n' Crass
Ms. Li announces that there will be an art contest with the theme Student Life At The Dawn Of The New Millenium. The art teacher encourages Jane to enter, saying Jane is very talented and could probably win the contest. Once Jane convinces Daria to help her, they discuss what should be on the picture. Daria suggests putting a picture of Brittany and Kevin on the front, with the words America's Future Leaders. Jane says no, that would be too depressing. Then Daria comes up with an idea. They show Ms. Li and Mr. O'Neill the poster, which has a picture of a pretty, young girl with the caption poem on the bottom,
"She knows she's a winner,
She couldn't be thinner,
Now she goes in the bathroom,
And vomits up dinner."
When Mr. O'Neill and Ms. Li see the poster, they insist on changing it a "little bit." Mr. O'Neill gives it a "slight change" and hands it back to them. Here's what his caption said:
She knows she's a winner,
She couldn't be thinner,
'Cause she watches what she eats,
For breakfast, lunch, and dinner!
GOOD NUTRITION RULES!
This, of course, makes Daria and Jane mad, and they decide to do something about it. They go to the school when the posters are being displayed and deface their own poster. Ms. Li tells Helen about the situation and Helen threatens her with a lawsuit, so they don't get in trouble.
Episode 7: The New Kid
Daria is forced to do photography for the school yearbook, where she meets Ted, a dorky new kid. Daria finds out that Ted likes her. He tells Daria that he thinks the pictures of the clubs, sports, cheerleaders, etc. should be taken out from the yearbook, and when he asks Daria about it and she says it's a good idea, he takes her to Mr. DeMartino and tells him about it. The other students get mad at Ted and Daria, especially the Fashion Club. Quinn tries to bribe Daria with a date, but Daria finds out and leaves. Daria goes to Ted's house and ruins his overprotective, happy little life by giving him gum, which he's never seen before, and making his parents upset and angry. Daria begins to like Ted, too (scary, huh?) and they go to the video arcade together. When they play a Virtual Reality game, Ted analyzes it and beats everyone easily. He then becomes popular and Daria leaves sadly. When Ms. Barch finds out that the pictures will be cut from the yearbook, she beats up Mr. DeMartino and he puts the pictures back in.
