Members were persuaded to perform the backing to an amateur production of "Grease", but quickly recovered and formed themselves into a band playing soul and blues numbers - and then some R&B - and then some pop - and then some punk......

And they were called The Radiators. As were several other bands, it turned out. They decided that calling themselves "The Northamptonshire Radiators", to identify themselves from the others, was too difficult, and anyway made them sound too much like plumbers. Nonetheless, they do undeniably hail from that county, but have played pubs, clubs, festivals, and many a wedding and birthday bash, from crowded village halls to posh hotels across the east of England.

The Radiators are a five-piece band, featuring Eve on vocals, Harry on guitar/vocals, Bill on tenor sax/backing vocals/miscellaneous percussion, Harvey on bass, and Nigel on drums.

They play covers, at least until Bill eventually carries out his threat of writing his own stuff, but usually with a distinct "Radiatorised" edge to them. They are proud their diverse range of material - diverse because they play music they enjoy playing, not because they want to become the leading Midlands Oasis covers band, or whatever (and no, they don't play any Oasis numbers - at least not yet....). Go along to one of their gigs and you will hear punk, next to rock and roll, next to R&B, next to soul. And not much of it played quietly.....
