Race for the CURE is presented by Danbury High School’s Peer Leadership Program. Each year students are chosen are their ability to be a leader and role model in the school. In teams, the students are asked to create a project that changes their community and allows them to turn their passion into something positive for the town. Justin Rau and Steve Tumino chose to do a 5K road race. Their motivation? Justin is an All-American runner and Steve was the captain for the Nationally Ranked US#5 Danbury Hatters Track Team. More importantly, their captain and star runner Matt Terry lost his mother to breast cancer. This event shows the commitment valued by Ms. Terry and the Hatters track team to always look forward and always help out one another. So now is your chance to be part of the team that makes a difference by donating to Susan G Komen foundation! |
