Thank you for droping by and visiting us here at The Rabbidashery!

And just what exactly IS a rabbidashery anyways? Well, here's how I got my name...

Have you all heard of a haberdashery? Or a haberdasher? From way back in the old olden days? A haberdasher is a dealer of various small articles. Such as ribbons, thread, needles, little trinkets, etc... and a haberdashery is a haberdasher's shop - goods and wares sold by a habidasher. Well, for those of you who know me, you KNOW how much I just LOVE to sew and craft! That is my biggest hobby. I love to sew, quilt, crochet, work w/plastic canvas, do needle point, and lots of other misclaneous craft stuff. I often take my wares to craft shows for sale!

And I've got a small rabbitry going, and I intend to keep it smaller, (less than 50 holes), and the breeds I raise are all smaller breeds. Mini Rex, Dwarf Hotots, Netherland Dwarfs, and Holland Lops.

So when you put the 2 words together, rabbit + haberdashery, you get "Rabbidashery; a dealer in small, various rabbits". So for me, the name just suited me, and it stuck!

Breeds I currently have:

Dwarf Hotot - My daughter has 3 sr does and 2 sr bucks. All 5 are black bandeds, but she's also interested in the chocolates and maybe blues. If anyone has any of those colors available, let me know. We just did some breedings and hope to have babies in the beg. of June '09.

Mini Rex - My main focus is on red, white & blue, and sable point. White inclues both REW & BEW. My secondary colors of focus are black, himi & chocolate, and our tertiary colors are lilac, tort, and castor. I often have other colors available, as sometimes you get a surprise, so keep checking the nest box for availablility or shoot me an email if you're looking for something specific, as often you have various colors in litters even if you weren't trying for that color. LOL! The colors I have the most are black, blue, castor, red, sable pt, bew/vc, and tort . I also get himi, smoke pearl, blue/smoke pearl point, sable, rew, chocolate, sable, and sometimes others. At this time I do not have any BEW's but will be getting some soon. Hopefully this summer.

Netherland Dwarf I've been wanting to add this breed for nearly 2 yrs and I just got started up again back in Jan. '08. At first, it was  a hodge podge of what all I wanted to work on. There are so many ND varieties that I like, I was open to what I bought because it didn't matter what I had since I didn't have anything yet. I have always had a strong interest in the sable points, (gee, ya think? I have sable pt Mini Rex, sable pt Holland Lops, "sable point" cats [I have 2 siamese kittens], and so it is an obvious assumption that I would like sable pt ND's as well, LOL!).  I also completely love the smoke pearl coloring, so I'll be working on those w/o a doubt. We also love the solid selfs, (I'm not too big on the brokens), and the tan family.

The girls and I have finally made up our minds and have decided to focus on "silver & gold" Netherlands, (AKA otters & martens), and our secondary colors of focus will be the smoke pearls & himis, & we also expect a few other colors as well.

Holland Lop - I will be focusing on frosty, smoke pearl and sable point varieties and will have the typical colors you need to work on those colors. As much as I love the Hollands, my heart just isn't into them like it is my other breeds. I have very few cages for my HL's as I'm more focused on my Mini Rex and Netherlands right now, and am also focused on helping my daughter succeed with her Dwarf Hotots.

Blanc de Hotot - We've just picked up this new breed. We have 1 jr F2 outcross, and also 1 NZ white to cross into the lines for improvements. I am very eagerly looking forward to working with this endangered breed, (threatened), and hope to do what I can to improve the future generations and make them as true to standard as I can get. I also intend to register any and all that are registerable so that they can keep better track of how many there are in the US/world.

Flemish Giant - My husband's been wanting one for a while now, and I kinda did too, so we bought a black one April of '06. This will most likely be our only one, and as a pet. She is a very gentle girl, and everybody loves to see her when they come to our barn. Sometimes we let her hop around outside. She doesn't go too far, mostly likes to lay under the bushes. LOL! A lot of people are concerned if she'll hop away, but I just tell them that she's big and slow...not to mention getting old...so she doesn't really go too far and it's always easy to catch her. Enora will be here until the day she dies. We've no interest in placing her in another home.

Take my poll!

My name is Tania, I live in south central Wisconsin in the village of Sauk City, which is inbetween the Dells and Madison. I travel a lot and go to many shows, so if you're hours away, don't sweat it, I'm sure we can work something out. I usually go to Chicago several times a year to see family, go to Indiana about twice a yr, and also go to LaCrosse often as well. I will try to list my traveling on my site, but you can always ask. If you wish to stop out and see my rabbits or if you have any questions, please feel free to drop me a line. I will get back to you as soon as I am able to. My husband has had his private pilot's license for years now, so if you're in need of transport and you're within say 1-2 states away, drop me a line and we'll see what we can arrange. We do ask a transport fee to help pay for the plane rental and it's fuel. Pricing on that is open for discussion depending how how far away you are, how many rabbits you need transported, and how much the total trip is going to cost us.

I may possibly consider meeting you somewhere, but for serious inquiries only. I also plan to attend shows, so we can also meet up there if there's one closer to you. I hit most shows in the central/southern WI area. I also plan to attend some shows in Illinois, Iowa, and possibly Minnisota, now that I live closer to the borders.

Please note: not all pages are updated on the same day nor at the same time. Some information may be delayed or not yet brought current. I am very busy, but I try to get my info up as soon as I have the time. Please feel free to email me and ask about a certain rabbit, if someone interests you. I sometimes sell them before I have time to put them up on the for sale page and sometimes I decide to sell a few and just don't have the time to put them up on the sale page yet. So always feel free to inquire on any rabbits. Also, if you see that a rabbit is "on hold" you may still inquire on him/her. Sometimes it doesn't always work out and they become available again.
