All my recordings play at right speed. Sound ratings: 5 excellent, 4 good, 3 average, 2 poor, 1 shit

BBC sessions 1966-72 (5) SBD 31 tracks, complete. Down the dustpipe with a guitar solo

Vienna Stadthalle 12.1.69 (3+) new version from master tape. Francis in the XS autobiography: "Alan had brought in this bluesy shuffle called 'Junior's wailing' (written by a London band called Steamhammer) that he suggested we do, and that kind of set the template for the new blues-rock sound we started to explore. I admit I wasn't sure at first...". Rick on "Rock on" radioshow 82: "I think the first track that brought about the initial change was Junior's wailing... Nuff came in with it actually, he suggested it, and I remember I never wanted to do it...".

Granada TV studios Manchester ?.9.70 (4 tracks) (5) TV "Doing their thing". Roadhouse blues, Down the dustpipe, Spinning wheel blues, Is it really me/Gotta go home (12 minutes), perfect sound. Alan was doing the announcements. Must have been recorded before the 26.9., as Roy Lynes was still in the band. Alan: "Cause Roy really came from a different era. He came from that Elvis Presley, Gene Vincent era. Which was rock'n roll. We weren't really rock'n roll. We were rock boogie. And Roy really got sick with our style and as soon as he left us the whole band tightened up as this four piece unit."

Francis in Classic rock: "We were influenced by white musicians who were playing black music, but we were never cool enough to namedrop obscure blues players the way that Steve Marriott or Peter Green did. That made me envious, I felt like a cunt." Alan: "Rossi never learned his scales. He used to play from a minor to major without realising. And I think that gave the blues stuff a poppy feel... By accident, we commercialised the blues."

Beatclub Bremen 26.9.70 (3 tracks) (5) TV (April) spring, summer and Wednesdays, Spinning wheel blues (with complete intro), and Is it really me/Gotta go home (track miserably edited by naz.. erm german TV)

Weely Festival of Progressive Pop 29.8.71 (2+) remastered. 31 minutes version of Is it really me/Gotta go home with rare bass solos, Alan and Francis exchanging bits of music like Taste... Features also rare flageolet-tone soloing by Francis. "We were due on at two or three in the morning, and we got on at nine in the morning…" (Francis)

Stockholm Radiohuset 24.11.71 (5) FM as opposed to the album version, Rick plays the lick to Umleitung while Francis sings. Roadhouse blues with bass intro

Stockholm Radiohuset 24.11.71 (5) SBD advance copy of the planned but cancelled 2001 release

London Marquee Club 26.6.72 (double) (3) pre-album Big fat mama, longer, diff. lyrics. Roadhouse blues already has the jig, ("Irish washer women") which at the time was also used in Gotta go home

London Paris Theatre 1.3.73 (5) FM "Don't you be too worried about these er… gentlemen, that make us sit down and all that… Cause there's more of you than there is of them!" Sometimes falsely dated 1.5.73. This recording was known as "BBC in concert" and "Ready steady Quo" (vinyl), "It was just a good name..." and "Roadhouse blues" (cd). It was first officially released in 1995, with issue 81 of the Italian 'I Miti Del Rock' magazine. A 2007 planned Universal release was cancelled

Glasgow Green's Playhouse 7.3.73 (double) (2) Rick: "You go out on this stage and it's about 12 feet up in the air, and you've got the best part of 4000 Scotsmen in front of you going, 'right, play or piss off' - and the place went fucking mental. The roof came off. One of the highlights of my career was playing Green's Playhouse."

Toronto Centre Island 11.8.74 (3-)

Paris Olympia 11.1.75 (3) because Quo didn't play another encore after Bye bye Johnny, a riot broke out, and part of the chairs and a wall were destroyed. Unfortunately, this can not be heard on the bootleg In a french interview the band argued that they had done their job, and that the mistake had been made by the organisators, who hadn't switched on the light again after Bye bye Johnny, so that the public expected more

Marseille Salle Vallier 16.1.75 (4-)

Mainz Rheingoldhalle 22.2.75 (4+) FM the roughest 70es radiobroacast. The crowd had to be stopped by the german hall speaker after the end of the show: "This is a radiobroadcast, we can't let you shouting for an encore for 5 minutes!"

Madrid Teatro Monumental 14.3.75 (5-) TV

Madrid Teatro Monumental 14.3.75 video CD (EX-) Francis with a Stratocaster (!), ready to play Down down, but the TV station switches to Big fat mama! With his guitar, Alan defends the stage, invaded during Bye bye Johnny!

Nottingham Rock City 12.4.75 (3-) this might also be a Newcastle May 75 date, as the 13th anniversary EP seems to be already out (released 8.5.75). Has Nightride and 4500 times incl. Gotta go home. The verse of Gotta go home can only be heard on this recording, but the track remained in 4500 times until 1990, as its E section and final riff

Eskilstuna Folkets Park 31.5.75 (double) (3)

Paris Palais des Sports 2.6.75 (double) (3+) one of the favourite venues of John Coghlan. This show was always falsely called Paris 31.12.75 audience recording, which is rather rare: normally they give one show different names, not different shows the same name..

Gothenburg Liseberg 21.8.76 (2)

Tokyo Sun Plaza Hall 17.11.76 (5) SBD not a boot in fact, but an official japanese release, "Tokyo Quo". Francis: "The Japanese wanted to release a live album with us, recorded in 1976. I've listened to it and I thought it was crap." Andy (who was absent from this tour) noticed once a lot of "bum notes" on it. Rick misses the Roll over lay down intro, and for some reason stops playing during the solo in Big fat mama.. A bad sounding vinyl version existed, called "Don't waste my time"

Osaka Koseinenkin Hall 19.11.76 (double) (4-)

Adelaide Memorial Drive 27.11.76 (3) most tracks clipped

Melbourne Meyer Music Bowl 2.12.76 (double) (3-)

St.Austell Cornwall Coliseum 7.3.81 (double) (3) there's some harp playing on Roadhouse blues on the two St.Austell shows, and on a few others from the Never too late tour. But it has nothing to do with Bob Young's playing

Deeside Leisure Centre 23.4.82 (double) (3) after Dear John, Francis announces that the new album has just gone to number one

Bridlington Spa Royal Hall 28.4.82 (double) (2+)

Glasgow Apollo Theatre 1.5.82 (double) (5) FM was called "Resurrection", but this version starts with Caroline. The Mexican hat dance is now played as a second jig in Roadhouse blues. This broadcast was bought from Radio Clyde for an official release, but nothing happened

Glasgow Apollo Theatre 1.5.82 (double) (3) audience recording of complete show incl. Dear John. Was falsely called Glasgow 30.4.82, possibly because of this Dear John not featured in the broadcast

This recording sounds much better than the official album, which was remixed to death by Dave Richards (but this was nothing compared to what a certain Tim Turan, who should get himself another job, recently has done to the Live album..). There was an poor sounding vinyl version of this broadcast called "Over the edge"

London Wembley Stadium Live Aid 13.7.85 (3 tracks) (5) TV Rockin all over the world, Caroline and Don't waste my time. On Rockin all over the world, Rick exceptionally plays C-F9-G9 instead of the usuals major chords

Francis, XS biography: "Officially, we were merely retiring from the road; there would continue to be Quo records released periodically. Unofficially however, although I hadn't said anything yet, I had already crossed that off my list, too". "I decided the time was right to me to break away; do a bit of writing, work on my own solo albums". "..when we did finally manage to put together enough material for an album, Phonogram declined to release it." Ah.. so the reason why Status Quo still exists today is...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Alan: "Status Quo now is a covers band. They cover Status Quo."

Francis "Just doin it" book: "There was one of the things with Alan Lancaster, he wanted us to stay like a rock band. But I can't, not with this country and pop background"

Rick on the TPAOY DVD: "There's still a lot of fans about who say 'There's no Quo like the original Quo', and I can respect them for saying that, because there was something magical about it"

Linz Stadthalle 2.5.86 soundcheck (3-)

Linz Stadthalle 2.5.86 (double) (3) the Vox AC 30 are now replaced by Marshalls. It was said in interviews at the time that the new Vox products (the old stuff had been sold) were not reliable enough. The bass is now rather low in the mix (Rossi strikes again?), and the fact that it's not played with a plectrum anymore doesn't really improve its audibility..

Alan: "You can't play Status Quo songs with your fingers like Rhino does. It's ridiculous. It's a different kind of chunk... You can't control the depths of the notes"

In the 2005 French Quo biography, Mr. Edwards pretends that more than 90 % of the Quo fans don't even know there was an original bass player in Quo. Inferiority complexes can make a man bitter...

Vienna Stadthalle 5.5.86 soundcheck (3)

Vienna Stadthalle 5.5.86 (double) (3) + Francis Austrian radio interview on the Vienna incident

Bruxelles Stade de l'Union 21.6.86 (4) TV

Dinkelsbühl Out In The Green Festival 5.7.86 (5) TV due to the horrible TV mix, Andys synths destroy most of the tracks. But it's interesting, as you hear things you normally wouldn't; he obviously plays guitar-imitating keyboards in the background all the time

Dinkelsbühl Out In The Green Festival 5.7.86 (3-) audience recording of complete show. No, it wasnt the TV's fault, after all...

Loreley Out In The Green Festival 6.7.86 (double) (4) complete version from master tape. Messed up intro to Little lady, which was restarted ("Next thing is... fuck Rick. Rick was in A, we were in B, but we're workin at it"). Jeff Rich is introduced as something like "Blacky Harry"

London Wembley Stadium 12.7.86 (4+) known as "Quo's back Wembley". A clever dutch trader sells this as from Quo's mixing desk...

Brest Stade Francis Leblé 13.7.86 (4-) "You're right?" "Ouais, et ta soeur!"

Stockholm Eriksdalshallen 10.10.86 (double) (3+) In the army now and Overdose played with a tape running in the background, with Jeff Rich miming to the "Stand up and fight". As Francis said in an interview he considered the possibility of bringing in a second keyboarder for the new songs, the tape solution was not that bad…

London Wembley Arena 6.7.88 (double) (4) great slow blues version of Spinning wheel in the encore, with Rick on vocals. Roadhouse blues feat. the riff to Rockin on (the one also used on 4500 times)

Around that period, the encore with the blues and rock'n roll jam sessions was regularly introduced by Francis as "party time". Whole lotta shakin goin on was then known as "the gorilla", and Andy sometimes took over Rick's guitar in Bye bye Johnny, while Rick was playing keyboards

London Wembley Arena 7.7.88 (5) FM Pip Williams plays guitar on Bye bye Johnny (track slightly edited by the BBC). Was called "Whatever you want", and could also be found on "Resurrection". A 2007 planned official release of this recording was cancelled

London Wembley Arena 23.12.90 (double) (3+) last long version of 4500 times (15 minutes) with bits of Gotta go home, the lick from "Blue rondo a la turk". Caroline is played after Bye bye Johnny

Barcelona La Farga de l'Hospitalet 25.5.91 (5-) FM the replacement of Francis' original Telecaster pick-ups by Fender-Lace-Sensors (to sound like the G&L Asat...) around that time contributed to a more cheesier solo sound, mellow, blurred and imprecise. This effect was also reinforced by the lighter string gauge, changed from 10 to 9 (don't know when), because they were "easier to bend", he once said. Less control, overbendings...

Glasgow SE&CC 21.9.91 (3) gig from the Rock 'til you drop event, Let's work together in the set

Glasgow SE&CC 30.11.91 (double) (3+) No problems is performed one key lower, probably because it's easier to sing like that; same thing happened with Dirty water in 98

Blackpool Opera House 2.12.91 (double) (3+) Roadhouse blues incl. bits of Gotta go home (in fact the lick is from "Race with the devil", from Gun). Like a Zombie still in the set

London Wembley Arena 6.12.91 (double) (4-)

Schwalmstadt Flugplatz 24.6.95 (3 tracks) (5) FM Whatever you want, In the army now, Rockin all over the world

Gothenburg Ullevi 7.7.95 (2+) the first time Alan Lancaster saw the band on stage after the split: "I found that concert very uninspiring, it lacked feel and realism. Most of the songs were played much too fast, and the band looked cabaret. It was upsetting for me to see Francis and Rick degrading the name and legacy of Status Quo like that."

Skanderborg Festival 11.8.95 (double) (5) TV video shows Francis' guitar hanging almost under his chin

Brasov Golden Stag Festival 30.8-3.9.95 (double) (4+) TV formally known as Bucharest, recently reappeared as Brno 95, an invented date. A newly proposed date, 22.8., is also invented, as the festival started only on the 30.8.95

London Wembley Arena 16.12.95 (double) (4-) was called "Softer ride". Paper plane was played in A from 95 to 99, originally to fit with softer ride Come rock with me/Rockin on in the set. Bonus Roadhouse medley live Countdown studios Amsterdam September 92

Oxford Apollo 13.12.98 (double) (4) Travellin' light in encore

Brighton Centre 20.12.98 soundcheck (2-) hardly audible performances of Don't waste my time (with harp accompaniment) and Keep on running (from Spencer Davis Group), sung by Rick

London Ruskin Arms pub 29.3.99 (3+) Francis: "It was enjoyable from the novelty point of view, plus it taught us to use just an AC 30 each and get a balance, which we haven't done since I was about 16 or 17; just have an AC 30 each, bass and drums." (A few Vox AC 30 are still in use today, hidden behind the Marshalls). On Under the influence, Francis uses a bottleneck, which he rarely does, live

Hilversum studios 22.4.99 (4 tracks) (5) FM Caroline, The way it goes, 20 wild horses, Under the

influence + interview

Frankfurt Nachtleben 28.4.99 (5) FM no clips. Rick nows plays the intro to Big fat mama. He first tries to play Juniors wailing in B, the old seventies key, forgetting they now play it in C

Nottingham Royal Concert Hall 4.10.99 (double) (3) Shine on still in the set

Night of the Proms 99 (Anvers-Rotterdam-Munich-Zurich) (5) TV on the last few Proms shows, Andy was replaced by John Miles, dressed up in jeans and white trainers. Francis made things more relaxed by chasing the conductor Robert Groslot, saying things like "Take care of your bum, Robert, I'm after it", while John Miles was laughing tears..

London Shepherds Bush Empire 27.3.00 (5) SBD complete live set soundboard recording. The tracks are from the "Juke of the month", and there is no 5 track "rare official promo single". Simply a clever well known german trader cut some tracks off this recording, in order to invent another "rarity"..

According to John Coghlan's book, Jeff Rich, when he left the band, suggested Francis to take John Coghlan back, but Rossi didn't want to "go back"..

Top Of The Pops 2 May 2000, broadcast 22.11.00 (5) TV recorded before the german tour, still with Andy. With the new drummer, Quo's playing begins rapidly to slow down, unfortunately (on the Rossi's advice; it's known that he played even faster as Jeff Rich, in the first rehearsals). But he has problems in holding the beat: Caroline speeds up considerably towards the end (by the way, still does today…)

Top Of The Pops 2 May 2000 (5) SBD from same show as above, 5 tracks without the BBC speakers voice on them, Caroline, Paper plane, Down down, Rain, Rockin all over the world

Amsterdam Heineken Music Hall 28.10.01 (double) (4+)

Bruxelles Forest National 29.10.01 (double) (4+) "We try to put the set together as best we can, with, you know, some albumy things, singlely things, some hardcore, some not so hardcore... But the thing is, it's all us... So, if you're not a Status Quo fan, you're fucked!"

Big fat mama (Wembley 14.12.) + Softer ride + Paper plane 2001 (5) SBD tracks originally recorded for the "Rock on and on" doc. As you don't hear crowd noises, some of the tracks (from the "Juke of the month") were issued under invented names (courtesy of a clever german trader again), like "Matt Lettley sessions", "demos", "rehearsals", sometimes with an invented date, like Feb. 2002

Bonus track the Proposin medley Emden 2005 soundboard recording, also from "Juke of the month"

Guildford Civic 22.01.02 (3-) extracts + soundcheck (Gimme some lovin', You let me down)

Paris Olympia 30.4.02 (double) (4)

Nantes La Trocardière 1.5.02 (double) (4)

Sölvesborg Sweden Rock Festival 7.6.02 (double) (4+) Francis: "The festival where all the drummers had two bass drums". Quo were asked by the audience to play louder and they did, but next day their sound engineer had a headache, reports Francis in a german interview

"The one and only" BBC TV Centre Shepherds Bush 4.7.02 (5) TV incl. unbroadcasted tracks 4500 times and Rain. Unfortunately some tracks were edited by the BBC

HMS Ark Royal, Portsmouth 30.7.02 (4) the video of this shows Blues & rhythm and Jam side down played as encore, but only as playback performances

Paris La Cigale 20.10.02 (double) (4-) complete show

London Wembley Arena 14.12.02 (double) (3+)

Mexico City Estadio Neza 86 22.2.03 (double) (5) SBD remastered soundboard recording with correct volume levels (the video soundtrack plays every single note at the same level, sounds horrible)

Mexico City Estadio Neza 86 23.2.03 (5) FM

San Francisco The Fillmore 25.2.03 (3+) encore only

Chicago House of Blues 3.3.03 (double) (4+)

New York BB Kings 8.3.03 (4) no clips. Francis has to calm down the Mexicans (!) between the Heavy traffic songs. The bass system collapses during Big fat mama

Jelling Music Festival 3.5.03 (4+) it's said that Quo always play a track out of tune during their soundchecks; this seems to be the only recording of such a performance, Don't waste my time played in different keys at the same time

Nr Mansfield Sherwood Forest 13.6.03 (double) (3)

Aachen Katschhof 11.7.03 (double) (4)

Montereau Parc des Noues 12.7.03 (3+) "45 mystery songs"

Zofingen Heitere Festival 10.8.03 (5) TV 8 track version incl. Big fat mama. Same as for Dinkelsbühl 86, the bad TV mix reveals Andy's not really interesting background synths. But as he don't play them on Creepin up and Solid gold (where he's too busy playing harp) and neither on All stand up (where he plays piano instead), those tracks sound really good

Guildford Civic 29.10.03 (double) (4) one of the hardest rockin shows from the last years, but the band (aka Rossi...) didn't like the setlist.. Some problems with the solo in Break the rules, but according to Francis in FTMO, the original solo on the Quo album was sped up, to sound like Les Paul, he admits he can't play that fast. So he actually never played it as you hear it on the album

The oriental now in the set; it was said in interviews that it wasn't played earlier because there's a part in it difficult to sing and play at the same time. It's the part where Francis sings "you want another one, and another one", and the guitar part is now played by Rick

London Wembley Arena 6.12.03 (double) (3) after only a few shows, Francis has given up trying to play the solo in Break the rules for good..

Alton Towers 26.6.04 (5) SBD British Telecom staff gig

Montreux Jazz Festival Auditorium Stravinsky 4.7.04 (5) FM the Rhino (aka "Brain surgeon") deplores in his tourlog that he hit a wrong note in 4500 times. But as his circumcised bass sounds like nothing anyway, you can't hear this  :-)

Nottingam Royal Concert Hall 4.11.04 (double) (3+) Thinking of you in the set

London Wembley Arena 4.12.04 (double) (3+) Don't waste my time played as encore. Gerdundula now features a drum solo

Sölvesborg Swedenrock Festival 10.6.05 (double) (5) FM poss. the clearest radio sound ever. Incl. unbroadcasted tracks 4500 times, Rain, Solid gold, The oriental, Creepin up on you, and the complete Medley with Slow train (which was cut off by the swedish radio), all from "Juke of the month"
Liverpool Big Top Arena 23.7.05 (5) SBD
incl. the Medley & Gerdundula + unreleased Creepin up, Solid gold and The oriental (all from Juke of the month). Rossi's voice gets louder and louder in the mix, these days, tearing the sound apart

Roeselare Schwung Festival 27.5.06 (5) FM

Wuppertal Uni Halle 28.5.06 (double) (4-)

Paris Olympia 22.10.06 (double) (4) Francis used a capo at the second fret on What you're proposing, which he pulled off while playing just prior to Down the dustpipe. The bass player needs a plectrum to play the intro to Proposin, he can't do the staccato with his fingers,,,

Manchester MEN Arena 8.12.06 (double) (4-) "Did anybody notice the deliberate mistake?" (the curtain at the front wouldn't drop for some three minutes). "We got a few guests here tonight, all our friends from Coronation street"

VARIOUS

Soundchecks 1984-1987 (4) Gothenburg 84, Vienna 86, Veenhoop 86, Munich 86, Zwettl 87. Incl. soundcheck peformance of "Only love", from Rick's album Recorded delivery

In search for the fourth chord - rough mixes (6 tracks) (5) normally "rough mixes" are ripp-offs, but this was available two month before the album release. Rick Parfitt - Recorded delivery (5) new version, better sound and complete Halloween intro

The Fighter (5) 1987 demo of the Ain't complaining album. Incl. "The greatest fighter". Ain't complaining has a drum intro, Magic has the original unproduced vocals, some tracks have diff. mixes

Now hear this (5) American version of the Whatever you want album. All tracks are sligthly different mixes. Living on an an island is the opening track, while Whatever you want is relegated to the 5th place (a shortened version, intro and one verse are missing). Longer version of High flyer

The John Coghlan Band - Frieschepalen Café Ma Kelly's 3.6.06 (double) (5) John Coghlan with Predatür (Plagiatür - "In Quo's garden") playing Quo stuff, incl. unusual tracks like Coming and going, Lakky lady, All the reasons, A year

Rare little diamonds (5 to 4) incl. Paper plane live Bray studios ca. 89-90, with a different ending as usual. The track has underlayed crowd noises (but nobody sings "we all make mistakes forgive me") to make it fit with the previous song, Little lady (live at the NEC 89), which it was released with on the mispressed Anniversary waltz twelve inch single

The power of rock'n roll (5 to 4)

Demos (double) (5) Down down, recorded at the Travel lodge, Los Angeles, during the first american tour 1973. Francis plays alone, open G tuning, no capo. Rock on radio show 24.4.82 (5) Tommy Vance with Francis, Alan & Rick. Alan states that the band actually started in 1961. Francis: "We must have been together a year or so before. We always took the age of the band from the first gig. When we first mentioned the age of the band was when we did the 13th anniversary tour [...] It seemed silly at the time to say we'd been together longer than that."

FAKED TRACKS

The so-called demos, outtakes, rerecordings, rough mixes, alternate/extended versions of the following tracks are fakes:

Jungle Jim (so-called Spectres demo), The clown, Pictures of matchstick men (BBC 13.2.68 live version given out as demo), Everything (remix given out as "rough mix", and even as a 2004 rerecording…), Spinning wheel blues, Daughter ("early rough mix for guitar overdubs"... which dickhead/crook invents comments like this?), Is it really me/gotta go home (outtake exists, the "rough mix" is a fake), Shy fly, Lakky lady, April Spring Summer and Wednesdays (Beat club 70 live version given out as demo), Mean girl, Umleitung or Diversion, Something's goin' on in my head, Railroad (remixes given out as "rough mix"), Joanne, You lost the love or Piece of mind, Waiting for the day + You set the world on fire (from a band called Freeway), Mad about the boy ("demo" done with vocal cut), Rolling home, Calling all shots, Marguerita time (faked extended version), Goin' down town tonight (single rerecording exists, but the extended version is a fake), Perfect remedy, Never say never, and various tracks from the Under the influence and Heavy traffic period (Making waves, Do it again, You let me down, etc.)

Apart from those with wrong names/invented origins, these tracks were faked by remixing, erasing one of the stereo channels of the original recordings, vocal cut, etc. and have nothing to do with Status Quo.

It appears that most of the cds containing such fakes ("Early demos", "Studio outtakes", "Rare trax", "Rare Quo Anthology") were manufactured in Germany.

Other worthless Cds are "Unfinished influence", "Rockin through the vaults"  and "As it happens" (or "The Whatever you want sessions"), which contain no studio outtakes at all, but fakes, remixes and officially released stuff ("As it happens" has a few real demos, but taken from the "Demos" bootleg). There's also a faked Francis Rossi solo album (Flying debris) around, consisting of officially released stuff. Finally, some non-existant bootlegs are listed in the Hot Wax: "We play anything" and "Thirsty live work".

Some of the fakes have even made it to official release (!), as "rough mix" or "early working mix" on the 2003 Castle reissues: Daughter, Is it really me/Gotta go home, Mean girl.

Already on the 98 Castle reissues some tracks stated as "previously unreleased version" were only remixes, not even done by Status Quo themselves: Neighbour neighbour, Pictures of matchstick men, The price of love, Time to fly, There's something going on in my head, Good thinking Batman, Mean girl.

Finally, on the "Rockers rollin" anthology, Universal sell two tracks from the Live at the NEC album as "previously unreleased", Hold you back and Over the edge

THE QUO TALK                                                                                                     BACK TO TOP

SING ALONG, KEEP THE ALBUM LOOSE –

LIVE VOCALS VARIATIONS DONE OVER THE YEARS BY STATUS QUO

Again and again

Then came a man with a rockin guitar, found himself a bitch, and he played it near and far

Then came a band with two rockin' guitars, found themselves a beat, played it near and far

You had to stay at home and listen to the radio… it's true!

Backwater (vocals by Rick)

I woke up with a boner, and a pain in my back

In a house on a corner, looking over the twack

I was walkin' down the highway, needin' something to grow

Had a funny feelin', but the dealer said no

Had a funny feelin', but the lady said nej/nein

But the mädchen said nein

I woke up with a monster, and a pain in my back

Had a funny feelin', but the monster said no

Looks like the lover needs a doctor, down the backwater road

Gina left/comes this morning, and she's not coming home

It's ten thirty in the morming, and I'm feelin' fine

Beginning of the end

Maybe a move to Bollywood

Who cares about the shit you leave behind

Big fat mama

I got a big fat batter and there's no one else around

Burning bridges

Burning bridges never made me cry… I love this one/not much

Even though I fooled myself for years, years, years… I can't escape this Ricky in my ears

Turn around and call it all a day... it's a day!

Break the rules

Spend a low down evening sittin' high on a honky-tonk stuhl

And I knew it wasn't right.... I knew it

Pulled a low down lady with a long black honky-tonk snatch/c... car [NB: all abbreviations verbatim, no censorship here! This is a french site.. and 'political correctness' is for assholes]

Bye bye Johnny (vocals by Francis)

She finally got the letter she was dreamin' of, Johnny wrote and told her she was in the club

Never ever thought that came a day like this when she had to give her son... a kiss

Remembered making money out of gathering crop, buying Johnny's guitar in a very big shop

As long as he would play it by the railroad side, and wouldn't get in trouble she was quite happy

Leaving Louisiana for the golden east/south

Bigger bigger everybody wants it bigger…

Bye bye Johnny, bye bye Batman be good

Bye bye Johnny skip up

Bye bye Johnny good wank

Carol

Oh Carol, don't let 'em steal your arse away

You park your car out in the open you can wank inside

A little cutie looks a twat/gives you a wank and you can thank her ma'm

And you can wank her ma'm

I gotta learn to wank/shag if it takes me all night and day

Caroline

Take my hand, together we can start it grow

Take my cock, together we can rock'n roll

If you want to turn me on to now anything your mother wants to

Turn me on to your tits/legs/bits/knobs, sweet love

Turn me on to your lumps, sweet lumps

Can I come there for/we can find time for lunch, sweet lunch

Are you keepin' your junks/lunch/lumps, sweet love

You know I wanna shag you, I really wanna make you

When I'm thinkin' of you sleepin', I'm at home alone and polishin'/wankin'

Creepin' up on you

Nothin' you can do, sure as one and one is three, I'll be keepin' up with me

Gonna write a little letter, poetry for you/ poetry for t.. t.. t.. two

Dear John

Everybody was talkin' to me like I was a twat

Dirty water

And I can't sing, because it's dirty, dirty water

And I can't swim, caus' I couldn't start to leave you

Why do you think it's all wrong for due/use/John/Hirsch

Maybe it's in something that Hirsch do

Maybe it's in something Johnboy do

Why do you think it's all wrong for Rick, maybe its in some things at his dick

Why do you think it's all wrong for you, hanging your tits on things that you do

I say it's not a guess, you make a sticky mess

Many's the times I asked Jeff to say, why do you feel so bad, day to day

Many's the times I asked less to say

Why do you feel so duff, day to day

Could it be a wrong, messing with your dong

Don't drive my car

I'm telling you straight don't drive my car… don't drive it honey!

Ah ah ah ah... don't drive his car

Don't waste my time

You hang on my lollies and love me just for my bottom/just for nought

You think it's funny to see me all the time… or most of the time

You think it's funny to leave me all the time

You think it's better to see me all the time

Sittin' with my legs goin' brown

Sittin' with my nuts/legs hangin' down

Sittin' with my head on the bum, treatin' me just like a job

Treatin' me just like a twit/crap/brown/twat/cunt /lover/clock/puff

But someday when I'm older too… and that's now!/like now/I'm older

I'm gonna come and make a twit out of you

I'm gonna come and make a fool out of Chris /me

You spend my knuckles/lessons but honey you sure did waste my time

But honey you sure did piss me off

Down down

Shit down, deeper and down

Pour down, deeper and down

Fuck around, deeper and down

To see you're laughin', and you're laughin' at one

Stop your messin' with one

What yours doin' to me

What you’re doin’ to one

NB sometimes the “get down” is spoken with a Scottish accent…

4500 times

There's nobody at the end of my lance/leg/legs

Ain't no snorting on a table for two

Be my friend…. Let's rock!

Blow me over like a blast from the past, everybody wishin' they'd be there

Gerdundula

Women seem to pass me by… sometimes /sometimes... most times

Get back

Jojo was a man he thougt he was a woman

Great balls of fire

I chew my nails and I twiddle my knob

Hold you back

How d'you know the music when you don't know the twat

Does the cock that you're watchin' ever tell you 'bout the time

Do you think that you can take it when you don't need no more

In my chair

A man in a helmet said what's that you smokin'

In the army now

Now you remember what the daft man said…

But once you're out there no one gives a shit/fuck

If you wanna survive, get off my bed

Nobody knows that you screw for good

Shit ring out in the dead of night…

You're in the navy/the forces now

Masturbation on the back of a van …does the best she can you're in the army now

Junior's wailing (vocals by Rick)

Put your legs around me like a sun beam/circle 'round the sun

Oh you gotta love me baby cause there's no one else around

Let's dance

Say that you'll let me have this dance, let's shag…

Little lady

Well I saw my little lady walking down the strasse/rue

Well I saw my dirty mama walking down the street

So I made another lady and so many more, didn't really know which way to come

Living on an island

Living on an island, thinking 'bout the girls I've done

Patty's gonna be there soon, I just wanna see her face…

Someone's gonna be there soon, I just wanna see their face…

Mean girl

Mean, mean, mean mean girl, I guess she was the kind that I've been lookin' for

Most of the time

Doin' a wrong, stickin' my dong

Could I be younger… no! most/some of the time

May I be wiser (no chance/no) yes than, most man will ever be

Mystery song

Call me Ricky/Sticky, you can take my dicky

Call me sugar, you can take my mugger

And now I know that I wanna shag/shake you, gimme the time you can name the place

I like the look upon your tit/vault (? or poss. german word)

I like the look upon my face

I like my prick upon your face

Oh I'm feeling like a … railroad

No particular place to go

Stole a snot at the turn of a mile...

Cruising and playing the whatsname, with no particular place to go

Never say never

All stand up are you ready for the weekend are you ever… I am!

Tellin' you now it's Friday, I'm gonna do it your way

Second verse 2001:

The world is ongoing crazy

and if we don't sort it maybe

then there's one thing sure that I know

Gonna pay, we're ready to go

Don't wanna see the children crying

Nothin' gonna stop me trying

I'll do now whatever it/she takes

Don't care of any mistakes

Tellin' you now its Friday

I'm gonna do it my way

The oriental

Her name was Mae Wong, she was a nuker, she was a raver of eastern flavour

I don't like sushi... love it
Got one for a cousin, that’s true!/not true! can you send me a dozen

Got two for a cousin
She said I'd love to go down on Texas

Go down to Texas... Nice boy! Must have one Lexus

Paper plane

Getting shitfaced sorry, once again

Legs and tits/knobs all feel the wrong way

Close my legs to look for somethin', saw myself as really nothin'

Railroad

Something went wrong with the size of my dong ...

...and now she's over there again

As she laid on my bed, six or seven minutes/seconds/days/years ago

Something she said as she wanked on my bed…

Livin' alone, a sex on my own

Rain

I'd like to snort/sniff/smoke a line but then again...

How can I nuke when I’m heel to heel

Rain that’s fallin' on my bum/kopf

Rain that’s fallin' on your head

Yes I can live without my brain

Yes I can't live without the gain

Roadhouse blues (vocals by Rick)

Keep your eyes on the rue your hands upon the wheel

I say roll, baby roll

I woke up this morning and I had a cup of tea

You gotta jump up and down baby, show me you like me baby

Show me your tiger baby

Allright… what a lovely voice

You gotta roll roll roll, gotta suck my dick awright -

I should have made you... so play a little harp (Alan)

That kinda people, that like to go down… quick (Francis)

Rock'n roll music

I got no kick against modern jazz, unless they try to play it too damn schnell

I had enough of that modern jazz

Change the beauty of the melody, if you want to sing along with me

Rock 'til you drop

Half of the time we were playing a gig…

Half of the time I could hardly remember my name… that's true

Rockin' all over the world

Come on out with your shaggin' shoes/gear

with your shoes/little shoes/overshoes

Rockin' all over the floor

Smokin'/skinnin'/watchin'/soakin'/runnin' all over the world

We're goin' stupid/super and we're goin'/it must be today...

Water born and we're hittin' the front/and we're shaggin' the road

All aboard and we're hittin' the road (used to be "water born")

All aboard and we're gettin' really wet

Roll over lay down

When I get home tomorrow night after this morgen/early one morgen

Show me your tits like you did the night before

Maybe I won't take two from the table/crewbus/three from the sexclub

Maybe I won't take the joint from the table/a nuke from the bus stop

Reckon I'll skip me up down the floor/bus/tonight for sure/not skip me up anymore

Reckon I'll play me some country at the door

Reckon I'll check the setlist on the floor

Roll over lay down… here we go/shuffle!

Rolling home (2)

I left my home one day for the sake of a lot more dosh/money/euros/of better wages/big skins

For the sake of a longer prick/dick

There is someone waiting there for one

Where the sun keeps burning down, on a whole drilled in the face/in the stones

Where the sun keeps burning down, on the rain drilled in the ground

And I dream of the car I left behind

Slow train

I gave no fucker warnin' I was leavin' and I thought it was right

Got a feelin' that I'm leavin' with a chicken/rooster/poussin/turkey/whatsname

Its no good to believin' that my turkey/whatsname/chicken was wrong it was right

Softer ride

Let my bum/nought take a softer ride

I ain't gonna work no more… it's not true!

If I could go back to the job I had, same ol' thing only drives me mad

Solid gold

A little smile, a secretive grin, one more wank/toss and you're out there again

Something 'bout you baby I like

Well I'm a slow wanker but girl I'd race a mile for you ... and it's all worth/but legs won't work

I see you everyday walking down the avenue with an umbrella

I'd like to check you over get to know you with a comb/very big comb

Oh baby maybe it's the way you wear your blackjeans so tight

Oh baby when it comes to snortin' my tongue gets so tight

Maybe it’s the way I wear my blue jeans so tight, I can put my finger on what I'm doing right

And then you come a strollin' through my dreams…

There's something 'bout your T-shirt I like

There's something 'bout your pussy I like

There's something 'bout you Clumsy I like

There's something 'bout you lady I like

There's something 'bout you babies I like

There's something 'bout you twaties I like

Straight as an arrow I'll make a new start, what can I tell you its straight off the arse

I seen her off, but that don't change anything

The wanderer

I kiss 'em when I shag/nail them

Cause to me they're all quite different

With my two tits of iron I'm goin' nowhere

I'll tear open my shirt and show them Rosie on my tit

And Cathy is the girl that I'll be with tonight

They call me the fuckerer

What you're proposin'
