QUINTANILLA-PEREZ STUFF

SELENA!!!!!!!! (incl. webstore)

July 20 2006 - August 3 2006 | from BELGIUM to CORPUS CHRISTI, TX, USA

*the names of our friends are blanked out for their privacy*

we went to the movies a couple of times and then came july 19 ... AKA the day before we left to corpus christi... it was kind of a hectic day because we had a lot of packing to do and a lot of parental reassurance too...they were worrying sick LOL... we couldn't sleep that 'night' though... so we had icecream... which was a good replacement LOL

we left to the airport at 3.30 am on thursday july 20 and we did Brussels, London, Dallas, Corpus w/o any problems... the problems started when we got to corpus. .. yu see when we arrived and the conveyor belt w/ the luggages started going.. we still didn't have no problems... after it stopped though we did because we were left w/o any luggage!!!!!!!!! ... thank god it came a flight earlier..;don't know how that happened thoguh LOL

then..the hotel... well... we went to the days inn..which wasn't a bad experience... only we had some problems checking in because our brand new ...and first... creditcard refused to grant us any credit LOL..the peeps of the company forgot to tell us about the 700 dollar./day limit to it LOL.. so we kinda freaked out a little and made our very first call home ... thank god it was resolved after a couple of ...hours

... all went well after we checked in... only did this DISGUSTING trucker from Louisiana ask for 'extra curricular activity" ... afterwhich he kindly gave us his roomnumber LOL... since we're kinda set to privacy we quickly ran away and avoided the man...whcih according to us was a smart thing to do because he was like 60...totally gross w/o any teeth ... and did we forget the fact that we HATE 'offers' like that!

day 2 went pretty well...no problems there LOL ...

day 3 ...oh boy... we were staying in room 108 ... mind us saying WERE because after that day we would be in room 108 no more... it all began at about 11 pm when we saw 'something' walking over our tv screen ...it was the cacamouse ... it was hugely tall ... red and had like 10 inch long feelers and it seemed to have a sort of wiskers attacheched to it ... after going in for bugspray...which they were out of for that time... they gave us another room ... we never packed the suitcase as fast as we did that day! ...seriously the thing was red, could fly and walk upto walls!!!

the next couple of days went by smoothly....included w/ that is the meeting w/ friends and we had a selena day which was wonderful!!! so cool that we had the chance to meet ricky, abraham & suzette (dinos)...also billy & brian 'red' moore (sel's producer) and had a chance to listen to a sample of Q's next artist ...sad to say that our friends weren't there when that happened

went to eat at "rositas" and it seemed like quintanilla-happy hour when 'Ya Ves', 'Baila esta Cumbia' & 'Como la flor' by selena played right after eachother and also a song by the kumbia kings and 2 songs by Jennifer Peña!

safely to say that of all places in the world we've visited (and that are more then a few) the corpus christi bay was one of our favorite spots... we also LOVED the USS lexington and the state aquarium!

... troubles began when we were wondering ourselves "now "what the heck are surrey's?" .... our answer came quickly when one of our friends came up w/ the answer that that was the name of the guy who rented the peddle boats ...mmh... okay we said... and gave our question a good laugh...

it was our turn to laugh though when it turned out that Surreys wasn't the name of the guy who owned tha place...but the name of them little bikes u can rent to drive by the blvd (you can sit w/ 2 next to eachother)

saying goodbye to our friends wasn't fun... also dave... our cabdriver (anna during the day, dave at night) LOL... but we had a fun time together!!!!!!!!!!! meeting one of our friend's bf' was cool too!!!!

the flight back home...can you say DISASTER!!! ... we had to leave at 9.10 AM ... but we decided to go early and we were at the airport at ... 4.30 am LOL ... thank god we could catch our flighbt to dallas 2 flights earlier! LOL... the only downside to it all was that our flight was chosen for 'luggage screening' ...which meanth that we had to open up our luggage to had the security people check up on it!!! ..everyone in the flight had to do it

we had a 40 minute delay in dallas because of a complete traffic stop to JFK,NY BIG PROBLEM ...since we, when we arrived in NY at the normal time, normally had 40 minutes to get to the gate that went from JFK to brussels ... thank god the pilote made up some time once airborne and we had one minute!!! (we landed in gate 38 and we had to be in gate 39 lucky for us! otherwise we would have been late!)

trouble didn't end once arrived in JFK and in our plane... THERE WAS ANOTHER TRAFFIC STOP!!!!!! for crying out loud! ... we had to wait 2 HOURS IN THE PLANE!!!!!! *grrr*

we arrived safely in Brussels at 8.55 am (local time) 2 hours after the original ETA ... and it was raining! they had a heatwave when we left and now its like 60 degrees outsite AND RAINING! *sigh* we were cold

good news + souvenirs:

IN DALLAS WE FOUND OUR COWBOY HATS ... we also have navy-white-covers (hats) and a pair of dogtags each ... we got sand for cinsel & stuff for another friend..... we also got somethign from Delores (an original invitation for the screening of the selena movie in march '97) and we bought a little ornament for our grandmother... we got the annapolis DVD and soundtrack... and a Sesi & la conquista CD
