Who Makes the Farm Work

Casey Gillis  Casey has been riding and working with horses since she was eleven. Since the purchase of her first pony, it didn't take long to establish herself as a fierce competitor and accomplished horsewoman.  She currently has her Coach 2 for eventing and is patiently waiting for the exam to complete her Coach 3.  As she waits, she spends her time as the Equine Course Director for Kemptville College, she competes many of the Farm's horses in the Eventing, Dressage, and Jumper circuits and raises her family which includes two young boys.

Her riding career includes representing Ontario in two North American Young Rider Championships in 1990 & '91, and being a member of the Canadian Talent Squad in 1998.  She has brought many horses up through the levels and held many championships.  Today, her focus is on developing the young horse into a well-schooled animal ready to move on with the right rider.

Holly McEwen  Holly has spent her days in the barn since before she can remember.  She began to ride when she was five and was given a retired mare who didn't know what hit her!  Working closely with Casey, she spent many years competing on the Provincial Eventing circuit on several horses.  After college, she spent a year in England working with top eventing barns to return to work at Kemptville College as the Barn Manager for three years.  She now spends her time at Quantum Farm, working with the many young horses and riders trying to put her Coach 1 to good use.

Pat Gillis  The Matriarch of the Gillis Family, Pat's great pleasure is to look out her window to see her horses frolicking in the field.  And her daughters competing those horses in various competitions.  Not a rider herself, she has spent all her time on the sidelines absorbing the knowledge of those around her and puts it to use in picking out great event prospects.
