Welcome to Pyroid Studios
Here, our goal is simple: Giving modders and gamers
alike the ability to make their ideas come to life. Many gamers have
had stunning ideas, but have run into brick walls when it comes to
using the Construction Set or learning modding skills. Many times,
modders have set out with amazing prospects in mind, but without proper
support or teamwork, their creative project disappeared.
We are here to make all of that change - for good.
Pyroid Studios is entirely interactive. We are always receptive to your
creative ideas and input. Unsure if your idea is possible? Need
additional help with a difficult mod? Want to make some changes, but
you don't know where to begin? Start with Pyroid Studios, and get
started down the right track.
URGENT NEWS
The Form Applications no longer work due to freewebs server limits. Pyroid
Studios will soon be moving to an original domain name, and a larger
server. Until the server is established, please direct your submissions
to the main forum, available via the link above in the toolbar. Please
use the site's SAMPLE APPLICATION and mimic its format to create your application on the main forums. Thank you, and good luck!

hoping to see your mod come to life: click on the link to forums in the
link bar above! Each and every idea posted will be placed before theDev

the opportunity to comment on other people's mod ideas, and possibly

the growing team ofmodders at Pyroid Studios.
I will post further updates tomorrow concerning team

open! Happy applying, and good luck everyone!
Update - 4/13
After a full week of accepting applications we have
seen immense expansion of the forums, and an overflow of Beta Testers
and applicants. I may have to cap the Beta Tester size to 15 at the
moment, although this number may change if Beta Tester apply for full
membership, or if the Studio Operations expand.
In other news, 2 of the 7 Dev Team seats have been filled! CONGRATULATIONS TO:
S. Disadon, the new Ambassador of Pyroid Studios, and
SAUK, the new Digital Art Director of Pyroid Studios
Both modders show outstanding promise, and have earned a place in the Dev
Team. Any other applicants must apply to the remaining 5 seats. Apply
quickly, and remember that people are competing for these seats. Be
sure to mention any work that you have previously done, and be ready to
email it or link me to it when I ask for references! Thanks everyone,
and keep those applications coming in! They are time consuming, but
very inspiring to see.
As for tomorrow, Mod Acceptances
will begin! Anyone who has ideas for an up and coming mod should keep
their eyes and ears peeled! Please note that Team applications will
continue indefinitely. Any and all modders wishing to apply as a Member or Beta Tester is free to do so at any time. Keep in mind that Dev Team seats are limited, and unless a Dev Team member is expelled, there will be no further openings! Get those applications in!

Update - 4/4
For the rest of this first week, publicity is the major issue.
Establishing a Studio and a fanbase within the modding community will
take time, and the beginning of any major undertaking is crucial. It is
for this reason that I urge my readers, and forum members to aid in the
process. All I ask is that each member tell one other modder about
Pyroid Studios. It is simple enough, and with each new member asking
one more person, it is only a matter of time before the forums become
very active, the gears begin roaring to life, and production can begin.
The sooner the fanbase and roots are established, the sooner the Studio
officially opens for business! Remember that this Studio relies on your input, and most
importantly, your support! Spread the word, send a few links, and become part of
something wonderful.
As for progress: Many
mods have alread been proposed via email and the forums, and a
surprising number are large, intricate, very creative projects! This is
wonderful for obvious reasons, but it also presents possible problems
in the future due to a single element: Manpower. Forseeing problems,
the Dev Team has decided upon priority levels: When the Studio
officially opens for development (after 1st week establishment, and 2nd
week team drafts), there will be a double-layered development approach.
It seperates projects into 2 simple categories: Large, and Small.
Although large projects
are fascinating and immensely entertaining to create and to play, only
one can be undertaken at a time. Projects will most likely be
prioritized on a first come first serve basis, and when several ideas
are in competition, a popular vote will be taken (via the forums, and
possibly the main site) to determine popular opinion. The Dev Team
makes the final decision concerning development, and this decision is
heavily influenced by your
input. Meanwhile, smaller projects will be in constant circulation! Dev
Team members will direct the construction of the smaller mods, so that
there are constant releases even while the large mods are being
developed. Remember that this very system will also be influenced by
your suggestions and ideas for improvement! Don't be afraid to make
yourself heard!
Update - 4/2
The Forums are
officially up and running! I have opened the major discussion areas,
and I have established several ranks as well. If you are interested in
becoming a part of the creative process, or just discussing the things
you love about Oblivion, then stop by the forums (there is a link in
the NavBar to your left) and sign up. As membership grows, so does
participation, and the more participation there is, the better.
I was truly surprised by the email response in the first day alone.
There are already a few people registered on the forums, and I can see
that the mod community is already more alive than I previously thought
it would be. Amidst all this activity, Pyroid Studios will most
likely go through this first week laying down foundations and feeling
out the current Oblivion Mod Community. After this first week, Pyroid
Studios will be opening Dev Team Seats for applicants. This will most
likely begin Monday, April 10th (4/10/06). If you wish to apply, and
have any work to speak of from Oblivion or Morrowind, please put it
together and prepare it for presentation. The following
things are required, if you wish to apply:
- A
list of skills that you have that could contribute to studio efforts.
Some skills include, but are not limited to: Scripting, Writing,
Questing, Dialogue, 3D Modeling, Texturing, Interior or
Exterior Cell Building, Item Creation, Object Creation, Race Creation,
Basic - Advanced TESCS Experience, Sound Creation, Voice Creation,
Music Creation, Photoshop skills...
(Remember that a wide variety of skills go into Oblivion, and if you
have any of these skills, or some of your own that may help, please
include them! Any of the above skills qualifies you for
member application, so don't feel
shy if your range is currently limited. Modding is a learning process.)
- Previous
work, or, if no previous work is available, the applicant must complete
a task I assign them to [within their field(s) of expertise].
-
Applicants that pass initial review must then submit an online screen
name for chatting and a personal interview. The personal interview is
mandatory, and it is the final rite of initiation. It is
also
convenient because lots of team interaction will occur realtime, in a
chat environment.
If you have any questions or suggestions, be sure to email me,
or sent
me a private message on the forums. Do not send any applications yet,
they will NOT be processed. As I said before, official applications
begin on Monday, 4/10/06. I will go over the entire procedure then.
Thanks for keeping up and staying updated!
Update - 4/1/06
Pyroid Studios is
officially founded, ironically, on April Fool's day! With Oblivion
being released less than two weeks ago (3/22), it will be some time
before a huge mod community develops! Nonetheless, the game is taking off, and as it
grows this site will continue construction and begin creating mods.
Many modders create their own Oblivion sites advertising their own mod
creations, and many popular sites exist to put other people's mods into
large databases, to make it easy for modders. THIS site, however, is
different.
Early on, as a Morrowind
Modder, I had no experience, and was lost for a long, long time. I
tried joining mod teams, but I could never get anyone to help me with
my own ideas. Now all that has changed. Do you have an amazing idea for
a mod, but can't seem to get the help or advice to do it? Contact me,
send me your mod ideas, and me and my team will work to make your mods
come true. With extensive TESCS experience from Morrowind, and growing
capabilities in Oblivion, we will do everything we can to expand the
world of modding for Oblivion!
The site is still under heavy construction, but feel free to contact me personally. If you have a mod idea, provide a detailed description
of what it is you would like to change or create! Your idea will be
read and thought upon by the Dev Team, and if the idea is accepted
after scrutiny by the Dev Team, we will begin development of your
project, and update threads on the forum and the main website so
everyone can see your project idea, and monitor its progress as it
grows! This Studio is ENTIRELY interactive with
its members. Nothing functions without you, so get these wheels turning
with ideas, suggestions, and interaction!
