As I have a Savage 25, it came with the aluminium roll bar, which bent very quickly. I simply took the old roll bar out, put screws into the missing holes (as the new bar only uses 2 screws on each side instead of 3 like the old aluminium bar uses). I decided to use the engine guard too, so I had to remove the top piece of the roll bar and replace it with the top piece of the engine guard. The screw to hold the pieces together proved hard to tighten, but it became easy once I figured out how to do it properly. The engine guard is supported by the rear shock tower too, so I had to take the body mount off, line up the holes on the guard to the ones in the shock tower, then re-fit the body mount back on and fasten it with the two body clips. The total fitting time is about 15 minutes, and the finished result looks much better than the stock setup!
If you're a person like me that likes things in good condition and hates scratches, the Savage X Roll Bar Set from HPI is for you! It's easy to install, looks great, and is very resonably priced.
