The Enchanted Mill

Poetry and Prose by Purplemoondoll

Dreaming Dog Days

Sleeping cavalier
Draped in Blenheim silk
Russet red reflecting
Autumn’s fiery cloak
Dozing, snoring softly
Dreaming dog days

Orion’s hound ignites
The sky as autumn burns
The green to red and gold
Oeneric visions dance
In twilight revelry
Sirius smiles

Playful cavalier
Tracking leaves and berries
Falling to the touch of
Autumn’s sweet enchantment
Barking at the shadows
Chasing moonbeams

Autumn stains the dawn with
Hazy blue and crimson
Noble cavalier
Stretching, yawning softly
Gently bouncing homeward
Dreaming dog days

Earthbound

I will remember whispers on the breeze.
Perfumed incense, honeysuckle sighs.
Firelight smouldering.
Earthbound spirits draped in starlight.
Dark’ning skies
Reflecting maiden moon.

I will remember voices in the storm.
Shadows cloaked in midnight promises.
Swirling silver streams.
Earthbound spirits weaving dreams of
Dark desire
Reflecting moonless night.

I will remember echoes on the wind.
Serpent smiles, mistress of enchantment.
Belladonna eyes.
Earthbound spirits sacrificing
Tears of blood
Reflecting changeling moon.

I will remember, shadows in the mist.
Your gentle voice a distant memory.
I sense your presence.
Earthbound spirit dancing through the
Veil of death
Reflecting endless twilight.

Paper Promises

The world was stained
A darker shade of sorrow
The day I watched the sunset
Painting abstract hues
Of black and blue
Storm clouds rising quickly.

Your paper promises
Lay scattered on the rising tide
Cold deception, broken vows
I should have known
I should have seen
The tempest in your smile.

Fighting tears of blame
I walked away in self reproach
Your demons screaming hate
Inside your twisted mind
Earthquakes tremor
Beneath a surface calm.

Without regret
I tore your paper promises
And cast them to the wind
Your shadow drowned
But I returned
Surviving stormy seas.

A twist of fate
It’s funny how the world can turn
Full circle in a blinking eye
My future washed
With hope against
The turning winter tide.

I watch the sunrise painting
Brighter hues of red and gold
Across an azure sea
The storm has gone
The skies are clear
This is a new beginning.

Revolving Echoes

Fatigue with subtle
Fingers stroke my mind.
Rest my thoughts, expel
The endless round of
Voices in my head.

Revolving echoes.
Nothing leads to
Something leads to
Nothing ..STOP IT!

Dead silence.
Drift on waves
to dreaming.

Gently
Fall to

Sleep.

Dare I Fall?

Healing azure eyes
Probing scars left raw
By past destroyers’
Broken promises
I am defenceless

Inner turmoil
Dead emotion
Senses numb to
Love’s illusion

Can I trust
You with my
Fragile heart?

Dare I
Fall in

Love?
