There were over 35 other bands which didn't make the top 100, including, Lars Frederikson & the Bastards, The Jam, Eater, Joy Division, Slaughter and The Dogs, Siouxie and The Banshees, Boomtown Rats, Ian Dury & The Blockheads, New York Dolls, Generation X, Elvis Costello & The Attractions, King Kurt, Transplants, X Ray Spex, The Saints, Television, Towers Of London and many, many more. There is an obvious dislike or disdain by punks for Mr. Weller but equal contrasting admiration for Bruce Foxton as is shown on the indivdual polls here. Even though Lars Frederikson did well as a guitarist as did Rancid as a band, his own band failed to make the top 100. Some other bands despite them having great members and songs obviously suffered due to their lead singers attitude to punk and subsequent actions later on in life, such as Billy Idol, (Main stream "Rock Icon") , Bob Geldof , (Band Aid) , Paul Weller (Style Council) etc., etc. Even The Undertones, who put on a bloody good show now and have punks singing along to their songs when on stage, still suffer from "Fergal Sharkey syndrome" , it seems that some punks have a very, very long memory !
