Hit The Deck play describe themselves as hardcore. I wouldn't say they are entirely hardcore, if they were they would be fast energetic melodic old-school hardcore, but I would just call it plain old punk. Good Riddance mixed with the likes of Comeback Kid, not really heavy enough to be hardcore but is up there with their hardcore scene, just call em old-school hardcore, OK. To read the lyrics, it is pretty interesting to hear what they have to say, with lyrics about being straight edge, life struggles and poseurs. A problem with this album is that it is over in a heart beat, the longest track going for 2 minutes and 25 seconds and the whole album just going for just over 17 minutes, but who cares anyway. Another interesting fact about this five-piece straight edge crew is that they are all very religious. Passionate old-school hardcore from these boys, which I highly recommend you get out and support.
