My GC Story!!
I've been a fan of Good Charlotte for 3 years, I think they are one of the best band out there. I know that their all alot of people out there who wouldn't agree with me, but hey it's my opinion and I really could care less what other people think!!!!! Anyways, GC's music couldn't have came into my life in a time when I needed it more. I use to always care about what other people thought of me, I went to great lengths to try to please everyone and to try to fit in. But the more I tried that more people made fun of me and so on and so forth. During this time I started to lose who I was, when ever I looked in the mirror I couldn't stand the person looking back @ me, b-cuz I knew that person really wasn't me.
It wasn't until I became a GC fan that I started to look @ myself diffently, there are 2 quotes I now live by.
1st one is: "Always be a first-rate version of your self, instead of a second-rate version of someone else."
2nd one is: "Any day of the week I would choose to be "out' with the "in" crowd and be in touch with my self. Then to be in with the in crowd and out of touch with my self"
Good Charlotte showed me that you don't have to please everyone, b-cuz no matter what you do or say, people are going to say and think what they want to and theres nothing really you can do about. So why change who you are, you should love your self no matter what. GC is the only band I could 100% rate to on so many different levels. I very thakful for them and their music!!!!!!
So now when I look in the mirror I know the person staring back @ me is the real me, so when I go places and people stop and stare @ my piercings, my dyed hair and my chose in clothing. It makes me smile and laugh to myself, b-cuz the more they disapprove the more fun this is for me. I shouldn't be a shame to express myself just b-cuz someone may or maynot like it.
